You and I are going to drink a lot of coffee together. Like, borderline dangerous amounts of coffee.
So, first things first. Pour yourself a mug and I’ll introduce myself real quick.
My name’s Jordan - but everyone calls me “J” - and I’m a 27th degree black belt in chugging coffee.
I’m also strength & nutrition coach, I hold several powerlifting world records, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have my writing featured in a variety of outlets like CNN, the Huffington Post, and Schwarzenegger.com.
But listen.
This channel isn’t for fame, publicity, cash, props, fist bumps, likes, pings, pows or whatever else there is.
It’s a place where you and I can chat.
I’ll never sugar coat, lie, or beat around the bush. I’ll tell you everything exactly as I see it. Some stuff you might like. Others you might not.
And that’s totally cool.
Either way, my goal here is to create a discussion. A place where you and I can get together, exchange ideas, and motivate each other to be better every day.
Like I said, we’re gonna drink a lot of coffee together - borderline dangerous amounts - but I’m excited. Because there aren’t too many online communities in which the sole purpose is to inspire and motivate one another.
And that’s exactly what you and I are going to do here.
To your success,
-J

I started my journey at 524 lbs in October. I obsessively watched most of your videos early on in my journey, so I've heard most of these things before, and I've used every single one of them. Just over 6 months later I'm down over 110 lbs, and every single tip in this video was used to a certain extent and super helpful.

@@LauraMartinez-jk9sq When I started I went a bit extreme and was doing 1200 cal/day (which I managed by just keeping protein super high, so I'd just eat two big ass salads that had two chicken breasts in each of them, honestly they were delicious and I enjoyed it, but I realized I was going to develop an eating disorder if I kept that up). After a couple months of that I increased to 1500 in December, then in January I started weight training at the gym and needed to get more protein in, so now I'm at 1800 which is where I'll likely be for the foreseeable future. Make sure you're choosing the right foods, 1800 calories is a TON of food if you're making the right choices. Smart swaps in the kitchen make all the difference. I still eat things like pizza, burgers, ice cream and even brownies, but I make them myself and use low calorie version recipes that still taste great. I think the 1-2-3 method is legit, I've done it the entire way, and it's super satisfying once you find the salads you really enjoy, and will help you stay in a deficit eating such large salads daily and keeping water intake up. And then the fiber + protein thing is real. Protein is incredibly satiating, and it's great for protecting your muscle from being used for fuel instead of fat.

Jordan, thank you soooo much for this video! I had previously lost 50 lbs mostly on my own, some on WW. I need to lose 50 more to be at my ideal weight. I am a 61 year old post menopausal woman. I was recently diagnosed as anemic. I am going to begin your program beginning next week. This video was soooo helpful to me. THANK YOU and Chag Sameach!!!

Thank you so much for sharing so freely. I'm 6 kg down from October 22 when I rejoined the IC and honestly think I'll be able to maintain it due to all the wonderful information. My relationship with food, the scale, weight loss and the future have changed so much since finding you and Susan and the IC a few years ago but I think the lasting changes only really fell into place from oct last year. I love love the consistency calendar but most of all the trend line in the weightloss tracker keeps me on course - thank you!

Such valuable content! This is also a very good starting point for people who have long lost their way in their fitness journey ( I can relate) sometimes I try to get back on track by absorbing so many different pieces of information and do’s and don’ts that it gets overwhelming before I even start - so it’s great to have someone give you a starting point ! Loved this video and saved it for when I need some reminders to keep consistent - also like that you do Q&A on other interesting topics which are not always related to fitness such as the WW2 question

I am about in tears I am so excited that I can finally see a way through the forest. Thank you!!!
