How To Loop - Nick's Kayaking Tips and Tricks
The loop, is a front flip in a kayak, and is one of the most fun tricks you can do in a kayak. Nick Troutman breaks down the techniques and trouble shooting for the loop. The loop is a great starting point for the modern freestyle tricks, it will also help with more advanced moves as it is a prerequisite for many of the more advanced tricks like a McNasty or Phonix Monkey.

Do you have any other tips for sticking the loop in the hole? I'm still washing out of the hole every time. Also, a video on lunar orbits would be totally awesome!
Hey can you makel a video about the Double Pump or cartwheel

Hey Lucker, check out my past videos. I just did a double pump video.
I really want to see tips on how to rescue a waterlogged kayak on fast water (class 3+ to 4), with minimum rick for self. so if you swim (the kayaker is safe), what are methods to saved his floating gear ie paddle, and kayak. What are methods to avoid? There are almost no videos on this subject.

Thats a great idea. I'll work on it.
would you recommend just falling flat on your face as practice before throwing? because i have a dagger kingpin and i struggle with the loop.

Most certainly. Though you should also practice the loop stroke while upside down. It's a key part of the trick.

You want to pull back as soon as you throw forward.

Hey Nick can you do a video on how to do a loop with a 12ft boat?

Really? I could but it is way easier to loop a shorter boat. Also the same principles apply from this video to a 12ft kayak.

Thanks for the response Nick. My question was somewhat tongue in cheek. The problem with my boat is that it is long and narrow. There isn't enough bow volume to pump me clear of the water in most places. First wave at O-Deck comes close though.
How is almost the reverse of this trick done basically when a boater does a backflip in a hole and comes back flat... Like they start out back surfing the hole and catch the stern with the green water and backflip into the upright position so they are then back surfing the hole again? Idk what that trick is called? I'm guessing what happens is you catch the green water with your stern and then as you flip your bow then catches the green water to continue your momentum until you're upright again? Let me know if you can answer this question or do a video on this one. Thanks.
