Good video 👍. I live in Houston, so my favorites for summer (or all year round in Houston 😏) are: Floafers Nylon watch bands Cooling technology shirts, i.e. Buttercloth, Arctic cool, Rhoback, etc I bought a tropical weight light grey suit, specifically for summer.

I updated my swim trunks with Tucanns. Fragrances are: Light Blue Intense, Light Blue, Mercedes Benz Cologne, and Bleu de Chanel EDP in the evening. Tucanns are perfect for built guys, very comfortable, and hit mid thigh. My wife isn't used to seeing trunks that length but does like how they look on me. They're worth a look if your shopping for trunks.

This past weekend, it was very warm wear I live (Michigan), I broke out my long-sleeve white linen shirt rolled-up at the sleeves, light-weight tan pants, and summer leather shoes. I felt and looked great ( people told me!). I was also sporting my Ray-Bans as well! Thanks for being my go-to fashion consultant... I'll explore some of the other options you listed.

I just bought a bunch of bamboo shirts along with some linens. Bamboo is as cool as linen but doesn't wrinkle as much & drapes better. Of course I also picked up Hawaiian shirts(linen also) for days when I need a bold color

My favourite part about summer is being able to wear better hats. Canadian climate limits hat options for half of the year 😅 Flat cap is my go-to but I wear a bowler when I want to elevate. I'm curious about a Panama hat this year

I've been looking for summer linen shirts and pants (short and long) in white or light pastel colors but haven't yet been successful.

I love olive green, my summer gear is olive green shirt,olive green cargo/combat trousers and a pair of Oakley patrol boots, and night time some 511 Stryke trousers, with 511 jacket and pro xt patrol boots, I don’t do shorts ( only when I’m swimming)

Hey Courtney, plastic fibers actually dont soak up water as much as natural fibers. In the Corps we said cotton kills because it makes all the chaffing. Linens tend to be loose fitting making them feel cooler hence desert tribes wearing loose linen. I think thats neat!

For me linen is hard to come by so I always go after cotton, as I don't like polyester because it makes me itchy and of course it traps in heat, and it doesn't iron well (holding crease that is)

Just like when she brought up no show socks it is hard to find cotton in the men's section so I actually go through the women section to stock up on cotton no show socks

Courtney, what are your thoughts on RAW cologne?

Interesting, my experience with natural vs synthetic fibers is in fact the opposite. Certain synthetics, especially some of the more versatile cut athletic shirts keep me way cooler in the summer, especially with heavy sweating Edit: That being said I think linen is a great idea, but I hardly wear cottons anymore, and don’t wear wools until the fall due to heat

There's a difference between synthetics used in athletic or techwear that's woven to better deal with sweat and synthetics used just to keep clothing costs as cheap as possible. Think of how much less breathable a fully polyester suit is versus a wool suit (even just a normal one, not a tropical wool or other weave meant to be more breathable in heat)

If you get a merino wool it’ll pull moisture away and keep you cool extremely well. But you will pay more for it.

All the wicking fabrics are synthetic blends that I know of. Some include cotton for comfort. Cotton absorbs but doesn't let go. The wicking fabrics come out of the washer nearly dry. Hanes has some great white tees that are stretchy and wick. Underwear too of course. Courtney may have been thinking of some of the older rayon golf shirts that were like wearing a plastic shirt. Also, I've never been to Cleveland (R&R HOF would be cool) but if it's really humid there, that will slow down the respiration of moister out of the fabric. I have "Hyperhydrosis", used to live in N Carolina, wicking shirts and underwear helped me there, but I moved to Nevada, it makes a huge difference. hotter here, but feels cooler because 10-15% humidity.

What is your take on shorts with hairy legs? I’ve always been a pant guy myself but I want to start wearing shorts .. however I don’t want the hassle of shaving them. Is it okay to wear them with hair legs?

What’s your opinion of Magnum PI shorts from like the 80s. I can rock the hell out of short shorts.

Great fashion advice as usual, BUT no summer watch recommendations?! We expect more with your connection to Teddy. 🙂Some great watches to wear to the beach/lake/travel this summer would have been great. I'll give my list, starting on the lower end and going up in price to luxury: Seiko SRPD51, Seiko SNE585 solar diver for smaller wrists, Doxa Sub 200 (fun colors!), the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Date, Oris Aquis (various sizes/colors), and the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M white dial on rubber strap. Honorable mention: Seiko SSK003 GMT coming out in July.

My summer goto must be a dress. Oh bwoi do they look good on women. Makes me want to say hi, to bad I’m shy. My mother told me she is very happy with her linen trousers, she speaks wonders about that textile, I might have to give it a test and see. Maybe sometime. Your grandpa reminds me of two and a half men Charlie sheen. He must be/have been the man. I miss my grandparents too. I only have left my granny from mother side, too bad I have always been far away and felt family disconnection, living in Spain, with everybody around the globe. I once read I would be happy once I started a family, yet my past makes me fear that so much. Well.. nice video, will be helpful for people.

Excellent video. The fundamental things in life tend to apply, as time goes by... I prefer the no-show sock with the loafers, not barefoot. Too much chafing for me. I have just bought some brand new Reebok white sneakers. You cannot go wrong with these.

I went shopping today and bought all of those things BEFORE i've seen this video. Courtney your too cool!

When you have a good physique it doesn't really matter what you wear everything looks good.

When choosing fragrances, it's not just about the scent of the fragrance, you gotta account for how it will react with your own body chemistry. I found out that what smells great on one person can smell downright foul and like a pungent stench on someone else. And it's not about hygiene or showering (or lack thereof) - it's just body chemistry. Experiment and find what works on and with you, and not just what is popular.

Just remember it only matters if you are a tall good-looking guy, otherwise don't bother, wear whatever you want. ☺

Ah, fantastic timing, Courtney! I've been meaning to ask you this for a while: I'm a guy in my early twenties, but whenever I wear shorts, I feel like a teenager. This obviously conflicts with the hot weather: at home I don't mind wearing them, but in public, I'd rather not feel emasculated by my choice of fashion, but sweating bullets in public is equally uncomfortable. All my shorts go up to the knee (not a fan of the "I might be in my underpants" look). I always wear sneakers, and my opinion is still out on short socks. Any recommendations or tips?

I'm not Courtney but to be honest, dress for the weather. If it's hot one day and you want to leave the house, just wear the shorts. Lots of people do including myself, especially in countries like Southeast Asia where it's literally hot all year round, and I'm also in my early 20s. As long as you're not naked or look suspicious, don't concern yourself with what anyone else thinks. It takes more than an outfit to get someone's attention. For example, if you can elegantly play on a public piano during the summer, nobody cares about you wearing shorts and you get the good kind of attention. It's a win-win.

Curly or straight hair??

I completely agree with long sleeve linen shirts rolled up halfway up the forearm. I wear these all year round. Also linen pants are cool and comfortable and stylish in the Spring and Summer. I always wear light or bright colors in the Summer in the daytime to reflect heat and to look Southern; I am proud of my heritage. Also, the cotton shirts with patterns are good as well as the old fashioned Polo shirts. As for shoes, I wear a Seavees shoe, similar to what Don Johnson wore in Miami Vice. I also agree on shorter swimsuits. I would and do go even shorter with square trunks like Daniel Craig wore in *Casino Royale.* I have to disagree on white t-shirts.

I do not think short shorts are appealing on men at all. I don't think shorts are practical in general unless you're [playing a sport], on the beach/shore, swimming, or maybe on a boat. I prefer breathable relaxed/classic fit pants. I also do not like rolling my sleeves up. Not to mention it actually restricts air flow when you do so and won't cool you down. If it's too humid, I'll just wear a short sleeve shirt. You're right, t-shirts are not attractive.

@@ChillCash Actually, I am right on all my comments or at least in my view. You might be right on the air flow on short sleeved shirts, but I think long sleeve shirts look better and then you can lower your sleeves if you are out in the sun for very long in order to protect your skin from the sun. Being covered up is better for the skin and is really cooler than being exposed to the sun. Long shorts look awkward and do not provide the air flow or the flexibility of short shorts, plus long shorts look like the 1990's and afterward whereas short shorts harken back to a better time from the 1930's-1980's when men typically wore shorter shorts. Everything went down the tubes after the mid-1990's. The look depends on the shape of one's legs. I only wear shorts for exercising or playing tennis in any case. Certainly, men looked better playing tennis and playing basketball in the past with shorter shorts.

I find it unnecessary unless I need to do some kind of work or something that they would otherwise interfere with. I think shorts in general look awkward if they're not being used for a purpose. You said you wear them for tennis for example, so yes I completely agree with that. But wearing those same shorts in a casual public setting would indeed be awkward as I'm sure you'd agree! The length that they use in basketball now is a happy medium.

@@ChillCash I still disagree on the length of shorts especially in basketball. Michael Jordan started the inelegant baggy, long shorts. I understand that he had specially designed these long, baggy shorts so that he could wear his UNC basketball uniform shorts under his Chicago Bulls shorts. Apparently, he was superstitious about continuing to wear his college uniform. Btw, these kind of talismans and lucky charms really do work according to a number of scientific studies. The researchers attribute their success to increasing a person's self-confidence. I am not sure that is the only thing going on there. In any case, I see that basketball players looked better in the past as did most people most of the time. I do agree that men should not wear shorts except for some good reason such as sports or working out. That's fine to not roll up your sleeves. I do it all of the time to get the sleeves out from being messed up while I have my hands in something. I typically have them rolled up so I am not always sure how they got rolled up. But I have heard a number of girls say that they like to see men in rolled up sleeves. I never thought to do it in order to appear attractive to women, but I can see how they would view men's hands, wrists and forearms as being a turn-on. It is also more of a turn-on for them and for men to see something that is hidden and then revealed like a man seeing a girl with a slit in her skirt-assuming that she has good legs.

That's precisely what I mean, to prevent the sleeves from getting damaged or wet perhaps, but I do it temporarily and without actually rolling. I only undo one button and do one fold then just slide it up slightly. Quick and easy. For your last point, I will have to argue that forearm size is still visible in a shirt sleeve just like calf size is in a pant leg. You don't necessarily need to see skin to be able to visualize a silhouette. Some women like to be tantalized lol. Also, some ladies may find that a man with their sleeves rolled up appears somewhat careless. Cuffs around the wrists look very noble and elegant.

Had no idea you had a fragrance channel

7" inseam at the most and 5" at the least for casual day to day wear that's pretty much my golden rule
