    That’s a great investment! When I bought my Birks, the salesman told me that I should also get the care kit! At first I thought is just another gimmick to spend more money! But good thing I did purchased that kit! It’s a great kit if you want to keep your sandals to last a long time.👌😎👍I actually got the same color you where showing! Love them so far!

    So happy to hear that you purchased the kit and that you are loving your Birks! The cork seal is really the hidden gem in that kit - set a reminder on your calendar to reseal your cork every 3-5 months. It seriously helps with the longevity of your shoes and don't forget that they are repairable. When you have reached a point where you are in need of a new pair, consider a recraft instead. It is more affordable than a new pair of leather Birks and it's great for the environment as well. If there is no one in your area that offers this service, we hope you remember us! Enjoy your Birks!

    I have the exact opposite problem. I ordered Tobacco Brown Oiled Leather Arizona sandals. I got Tobacco Brown Arizona sandals, minus the "oiled leather" aspect. They don't have my size of what I ordered to replace what I got with. So, how do I make my Tobacco Brown Arizona's into Oiled Leather? Is there a stain (not paint) specifically for this? Or a two step process; stain and oil? What type of oil would be best? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    How can I darken my Birkenstock Arizona Tobacco oiled leather shoes to give them a more variated look with deeper tones? I do not want the entire shoe to be all the same color, mine came lighter than I would have preferred (similar to what this original shoe looked like in this video. I am essentially wanting the opposite of this, to go darker in tone (in spots, not all over) vs lighter and haven't came across any other tutorials so hoping you can help. Thank you in advance!

    I made a huge mistake cleaning my birks that were covered in mud. Rather than look up on the internet, I cleaned like I would leather tennis shoes- basically saturating them in water, and scrubbing them with baking soda and a bit of soap before rinsing them off. I air dried them for a few days but now they are extremely stiff. I'm worried if I try wearing them and walking in them that I will snap them in half. The cork around the side has also lost most of its coating and seems dried out/brittle and the straps are also super stiff and seem to be cracking a bit. Some of the leather in a couple spots looks puffy like it has an air bubble in it. Is there any way I can fix them? Is there a conditioner I can use to soften them? They are oiled tobacco as well, and the color came out of the straps for the most part. Is there a way to fix that? These sandals were pretty much brand new and I can't afford to replace them. Any tips would be so appreciated!!

    What happens when they get dry and you need to oil them? They get darker again?

  • @DesertBirkenstock

    @DesertBirkenstock

    3 жыл бұрын

    You will want to use a conditioner before using a leather oil, it doesn't penetrate the leathers as much therefore not darkening them too much. You can always treat the leathers to hydrate them and go over the leathers with the nubuck block again to lighten certain areas or the whole thing. Completely up to you and your preference in coloring.

    @@DesertBirkenstock so if I get it right for oiled leather: 1. Eraser to clean initially 2. Leather lotion for deep clean and moisturizing 3. Oiling with leather oil or Vaseline. All set? Any spray protector comes into picture?

  • @DesertBirkenstock

    @@devanshnishi2008 We don't typically recommend the vaseline on the lighter leather because it can cause it to pull heavy orange or yellow undertones - however, like all natural materials there are many color variations. However, if you'd like to try it, apply it to an inconspicuous area (i.e. near the Birkenstock logo). Wipe off any excess with a cloth or cut up t-shirt and wait 24 hours to see how the color comes out. If you are happy with it, go for the rest of the straps. We usually recommend using a leather oil, conditioner or lotion to recondition the leathers. We'd love to see your process! Message us on IG or FB or tag us if you'd like. • @DesertBirkenstock

    @DesertBirkenstock

    Жыл бұрын

    I wouldn't recommend it. The erasers that we use are crepe and it works on the leather. Regular erasers are for paper so I'm not sure it wouldn't leave a weird residue. The shoe erasers we use actually have a chemical in it to help lift off the stain. It acts like an eraser in the sense of how your using it but also from the eraser dust that it creates.
