How To Light A Pellet Tube To Make Any Grill A Smoker For Hot Or Cold Smoking (A-MAZE-N Smoke Tube)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I show how to light a pellet tube so it will stay burning for hours. I’ve watched a few videos now where others can’t get it to stay lit for cold smoking. I was even asked in a video by name to help if I can help so here it is. Hope this helps everyone. If you haven’t subscribed yet hit the subscribe to see more content coming soon.

Quick tip if you purchase one and happen to not have a propane torch (like Me) soak a napkin in vegetable oil and stuff it in the tip and light it. Works like a charm. Great video love them all!

Paul's way is the way to do it. If your pellets are going out after you close the lid/door then you're not letting them burn on their own long enough. Bare minimun 5 minutes of flame without more help from the torch. Works every time.

I have three of these and have used them for the last few years. I tip on its side and light the bottom end. Top or bottom, either way works fine. Definitely need to let it burn for 5 minutes or so before blowing out. Couple other tricks i have used is hitting the lit area with a burst of air from an air compressor to get them burning hotter to start off. have also put a an inch or so of pellets in the tube, shot some charcoal starter fluid on it and lit it for a few minutes before filling the remainder of the tube with pellets.

Eddie I have a smoke tube and you have to let the pellets burn for at least 10 minutes before blowing out the flame. I also make a a wedge out of aluminum foil to help elevate the ooen end of the tube. So it is raised up a bit. I have also filked the tube 2/3 with pellets and the rest with wood chips. Light the chips and let flame for 5 minutes. Blow out and you should be good.

I am using weber lighter cubes, I put one on the top and light it, let it go for about 10 minutes then blow it out, a lot of smoke comes out of the tube but once I close the gas grill the smoke pretty much disappears. I thought it could be a ventilation problem but I have a pretty good KitchenAid grill with enough vents, I even move the tube as close to the vents as possible, it doesn't help. I was using the same brand of pellets, they didn't give out any decent smell either, maybe they suck, I recently bought a pretty good bag of high quality pellets and a torch, I will try with those two and see if I get better results.

You’re welcome Troy, this is my voice the way it is every day. I don’t try and talk like yogi bear. I’ve been getting this question quite a bit this year lol

My amazing smoke tube stays smoldering as long as the grill isn't on. Once the grill is on it always goes out....

Hey Jake, not sure why that is. I’ve used mine both ways with the Pit Boss and never had that problem. Maybe try moving it to another spot on the grill

Dont ever use Traeger pellets. They use wood oils instead of the actual wood. Lumberjack or Cookin Pellets are two of the best options

If you knew anything you’d know you’re not gonna get that thin blue smoke from a smoke tube. This is the way all smoke tubes burn, even just using a pellet grill the pellets smoke this way in the burn pot. If you can show me differently please do.
