    I've had tinnitus for 6 months, it was very loud. Then I found this KZread channel and for me this has been the only effective theraphy against tinnitus. Now , after two months of meditation, yoga, and body focussing I'm in complete silence again! So don't give up, it can go away completely!

    +authority mob First of all you should try to calm down. In the first two weeks this is really a difficult thing, because all your nervous system is activated and focus all your attention on the tinnitus. Tinnitus is so fearful not for the sound itself, but because of your psychological and physical response to it. The key to relax is to shift your focus from the noise to your response to the noise; if you start to focus and work on the tension and anxiety in your body instead of the noise you'll find that tinnitus starts to back off and you'll feel more relaxed. Do not try to mask the tinnitus with sounds or resist to the anxiety and tension, just live it fully like a strong emotion that pass through the day like a thunderstorm and with time it will lose strength because you start to know it and you begin to ignorate it. Then meditate,one hour a day every day, free your mind from all your thoughts. This helps you to divide the core of you thinkin, the present experience

    +Olli Benjii from the activation. Then follow all the tips and exercises on Julian's channel and begin to do a body based activity, yoga is great but sport in general is great. The key is always works to eliminate the tension and the activation in your whole system and body, not to fight against the sound itself because it will become stronger. And then, one day, the first minute of silence! Tinnitus will come back with spikes by now, if you have worked in the right direction, you know that this is only due to activation you let them pass trough like clouds. With time silences become much longer, then you start forgetting about it and then you return back to the normal state. It's a long, fearful and hard journey but if you stay focus and positive you will heal completely! Best of luck

    +Olli Benjii I just want to say I've seen a few of your comments on Julian's videos and it's so, so helpful hearing your positive story. I've started cranial work and therapy and have noticed a reduction overall. I'm so glad to hear you made a full recovery.

    +authority mob I don't have the end-all be-all answer. I'm someone on the path to recovery as well. I just want you to know that the best thing you can do is listen to Julian and people like Olli. Please don't take my word blindly, but I would highly recommend opening up about this to a parent or family member, or someone you can trust. Let them help you. Tell them about these things you can do to get better. You're a very young person, and having an adult in your corner to me seems extremely important. I'm only a few months into therapy (speaking with a counselor) and craniosacral therapy, but I've noticed improvements already. Keep your head up, and keep smiling. I wish all the best to you.

    My tinnitus started 4 months ago I was really LUCKY to find one of your videos first while searching for info on the internet, the one in which you talk about not being afraid of it, not having fear of worsening in the future and how to let go. The first 2 months were hell, because of lack of sleep and anxiety. Your videos really have (had) a very soothing and positive influence on my being able to cope with tinnitus. The noise, a very high pitched crystal buzz, is still there, but through all kinds of exercises, relaxation, meditation, tai chi, painting and writing about it I have incorporated my noise in my life. Since two nights i am not using a ventilator to go over my noise at night, I am enjoying my days and nights again. Thank you so much for your positive words and the tools you give to manage tinnitus.

    Dear Julian, this Saturday I'll start craniosacral therapy. Your guidance has been tremendously helpful. Since my main passion in life has always being music ( I'm a pianist), as well as spending two or more hours at night listening and playing for the last 20 years, the tinnitus has been quite a lesson, a tough teacher, which hopefully will make me learn a few things before it backs off. Not being able to play the piano for more than a few minutes has been a challenge. Thankfully, I have a relationship with my dear wife that I can only describe as the warmest imaginable. And I'm doing my best to stay positive and calm. Gratitude, patience, learning to slow down even more my thought patterns, slowly letting the superfluous mindset drift away since I know longer have the energy to entertain such useless and life draining activity, all these have been the lessons learned so far. Good to know we are a community of people willing to get better and grow through this. You are relentlessly patient and kind. Something to inspire us all.

    I have just been watching your videos and want to say a big thank you for posting them. I have had tinnitus for several years and have had periods when it was better then worse again. I have been doing meditation and mindfulness awareness for a few weeks now and am noticing that my anxiety levels have dropped. I do plan to keep this up and you have given me hope that the tinnitus will go away. I have also recently started to do yoga again.

    Thank you for this good informations. Julian, i have a question. I have TT since 6 years. During this time i tried a lot, but nothing really helped. A few days ago i started with a carniosacal therapy and i also do meditation sometimes. What do you think, how much time it can take to solve completely (or at least making better) my tinnitus?     After a nice quiet and managable periode. Now its back again a noticable amount louder. Now i directly notice it in the mornings. While I am distracted no problems. But when its quiet at work I go into that high state of mind again. Where I used to have a bad day a week, the spikes seem to be longer. Last week I only had 1 quiet day. And that was after I did some swimming the day before. The way I get up in the morning seems te be a marker for the rest of the day. So if in mornings no overwhelming tinnitus, Im good for the day. In this periode of spike I seem to be more in my head than normal an less in my 3d space of my body. So that confirms your story. In these periodes I watch your videos. Instead of the horrible stuff on forums. You give hope. Thanks for that. You are the man.

    Thanks for the feedback. I guess the good news is that if you keep working on yourself eg regular releases through craniosacral therapy etc and body-work like tai chi or yoga your system will strengthen and manage the tinnitus better and better. So the overall trend is in the right direction with wobbles along the way!

    Hello mr. Julian. Youbsaid you severe hearing loss in one ear. Can you perceive it? Do you feel a sensation of having ear pressure or how can you explain it? I have slight hearing loss in high frecuencies with ear pain and I can perceive the hearing loss I feel pressure and here less.

    I got tinnitus about a month ago .It May be due to damage to hair cell . Noise is manageable . Your videos are very helpful to stay positive. Can I drink occasional a pint or two of beer ? Or couple of red wine ?

    I have panic / anxiety induced tinnitus. I startes taking xanax and it has calmed a lot but I still hypervigilant over literally any sound in my head or percieved sound. When i am busy and with other people etc, the tinnitus almost always goes away completely. I need strategies to put this fear out of my mind. The initial tinnitus created a fear of terror. Now i am in a Cycle of fear where i am terrified of any sign of the tinnitus reemerging. I have even got into a habit of listening to white noise most the time as a crutch because I think if the tinnitus comes back I wont notice and the idea of experiencing tinnitus has v Become like a phobic or trauma. I wish I could break this x Cycle :(

    Anything that relaxes you and takes your mind off T will help. Having a class to go to is cheap. This also provides you with space to process, release and let go, and most importantly, holding. The teacher and the group's holding will help you let go. Wishing you all the best. Cheers Julian

    Yes - gentle and easy yoga. Not hot yoga. The aim is for you to connect with the body in an enjoyable calming manner. You are changing channel out of hearing and worrying/thinking mode into breathing and experiencing the felt sense of the body mode.

    Yes it can go away. Have craniosacral therapy once a week and take up yoga or tai chi and the prognosis becomes good. When you have it it is hard to believe that it goes away.     Well its not plain sailing and it takes time. You need to take responsibility for your own well-being and therapy can bring up stuff, but stick at it and it gradually gets better. How well you want to be depends on you. Many get it down to a low level and that is good enough. Others are sticklers for perfection and keep on going until they make a complete cure. This can take quite a while.

    Julian, can I ask you one more question? When I wake up in the morning, my tinnitus seems a lot lower, much more quiet. Sometimes it doesn't seems it even exists. But, as the time passes, it gets louder again. This situation happens to any of your patients? If it does, how often they relate this situation? Thank you for your attention.

    Sounds like you sleep well and recharge well. Maybe the stresses of the day start to build things up again. Might be a good idea to have half an hour of down time at the end of the afternoon practicing focussing techniques to bring yourself back down and hopefully bring your daily pattern back into balance.     Hi, Julian, What about T from upper cervical subluxation? Can’t see an upper Chiro because of pandemic. I’ve been doing self manipulation shown by Chiro’s on KZread to help. Made a head sling which relieves some pressure. Any other suggestions? Thank you. You videos are soooo soooothing. ❤️🙏

    julian cowan hills my ear feels full and pains sometimes but not most of the time and when I dance or run I feel like there is pressure inside my ear and clogged. 3 days ago i started hearing the sound but it's only when I'm alone or thinking about and I can't stop thinking about bad stuff and even if I go to the hospital nothing is gonna help and I can't stop thinking about this all the time plz help me

    Could it still take months for the tinnitus to go away even after the body has settled? In my experience there’s a lag with the body and the mind. For example, there’s a few months delay until psychological stress manifests physically. Similarly it takes some months for the physical stress to relax even after the psyche has settled. Just wonder if it’s the same with tinnitus as well

    Yes, annoyingly tinnitus can be slow to improve and quick to react to stress or loud noise. Also, once we have come out of fight or flight mode, there can still be habitual tendencies to check up on the ears from learnt behaviour. This is why it is really important to replace tinnitus behaviours eg looking for it, with yawning and face massage as per my app. www.quietenapp.com Please go to the matrix and click on the upper levels 5, 6 and 7 for helpful advice what to do further down the road in the process of getting better.     @@JulianCowanHill Thank you :) I’ve been doing yoga and stretches as well as going to a physio therapist. And in just two months it’s gone from an 8/10 to a 0.2-0.5. I’d say that’s quite quick and some days I don’t even hear it at all.

    Yes. Please give yourself daily facial massages and spent a good 10 - 15 minutes every evening yawning. This is a natural way of distressing and freeing up the ear nose and throat system. All of this is temporary and the quickest way to make a good recovery is to distract your attention away from your hearing and to settle your nervous system down with good hands-on bodywork and practices like yoga or tai chi.     Yes. Learn gentle yoga or tai chi and practice daily. After the initial low-cost of classes where you learn how to do this, body-practice like this is free and very helpful. I still think it is worth investing in your health and having hands-on therapy. This helps you let go much more than you can by yourself.

    Well its 3:05am in the morning here and i am working nights. I get off at 6:00 then I have to go home and try to sleep which is almost impossible. Iam going to try some ambien in the morning and hopefully it works. Iam not sure if I can call from my cell phone being its out of state. But I truly am very desperate.

    You can't let go of Tinnitus, because it's a combination of damaged stereocilia and possible multiple neuron damage. I have an idea that might help some people.

    That's incorrect. Tinnitus might start by your ears being traumatized by something. But when the ringing goes on, then the problem is in the head. Neurons will heal/change, it's called neuroplasticity which is also the reason why it's possible to let go of tinnitus or at least reduce our perception of it. At some point your brain stops seeing tinnitus as a danger sign and filters it out. If you understimulate any brain then it will show signs of tinnitus and other stuff... In our (i assume) case it's the opposite, our brains focus way too much on the sound and it becomes stronger, the neurons starts wiring together to make the sound more present.

    Just to add, they've cut the connection to the cochlea in deaf people and they still perceive the noise. Most of those who specialized in audiology for an extended period will tell you they don't really understand what causes Tinnitus but believe based on what they know it is most likely a neuroplasticity issue.

    +Grant Kirkman nice to hear that, i hope you will get better soon. My Tinnitus is very strange, someone so Can completly ignore it and don't hear it and on some other days it becomes very annoying and i become depressed and panic. I suffered my first Tinnitus in 2001 when i was 14 years old but After a few months i got used to it and completly ignored it. I didn't notice the tinnitus even in total silence. Now After 14 years the tinnitus somehow occured again After a very stressfull day and i Hope it will go away just like it did before. I Never hat a Therapy apart from infusions and Tablets for blood circulation. I will try the Therapy that Jacob mentioned and some orhers and hopefully it will get better. I have some Problems with my spine and jaw As well so Maybe that' the reason for my Tinnitus. When did you get your Tinnitus?
