How To Let Go Of People's Perceptions of You - Lisa Nichols

Hey hey hey! I appreciate you stopping by! For information on my live events, trainings and free resources, please visit my website: bit.ly/LisaNicholsMTM
--
All of us have probably had or currently have relationships that make us feel judged. These times of relationships can make us feel like we need to prove ourselves, however, remember you have nothing to hide, nothing to prove and nothing to defend.
We cannot change other people, but we can change the way we think about ourselves. Can you wake up tomorrow morning and be content with who you are?
I would love to hear from you. What was the biggest lesson that you learned from this particular episode? What did you need to hear? What was a #BOL breakthrough out loud?
I look forward to hearing from you!
Your sister in prosperity & in possibility.

Wow the BOL was the analogy of the tug of war. That was so powerful. I love that. Honouring someone is not the same as agreeing with them. You can say I honor and respect that as your opinion of me and that is different to my opinion of me. And that's ok. I commit to developing and evolving me passionately because you can't change others, but you have full control of yourself. I agree wholeheartedly with your grandma and I say it often, someones opinion of you often has very little to do with you and everything to do with them and its none of your business. Tomorrow I will wake up and give myself a big like! Every like after that is optional. Amen Thank you for being my sister in prosperity and possibility.

This is my first time listening to this woman. I cannot describe for me the resonance of power she displays. She seems so genuine. I have never seen a AA woman with such conviction, I would not have believe it even existed given my experiences and what I see in public. Her radiance makes her so beautiful and scary smart regardless of her lack of professional education academically, apparently she doesn't need to have it. I am a retired combat soldier, hurt in war (Iraq and Afghanistan) and I wrote books about my journey. I am English and black and the challenges of just that minus surviving war, Covid & pneumonia close to death, , homelessness, broke, family life disasters, you name it. Her advice is truly refreshing.

Yes! The tug of war is such an accurate description of what it feels like to “try” and manage another person’s perception of me. It always feels like a huge resistance and I end up feeling frustrated because I could have given my time and energy to something better. Grateful to be learning this now and have it reinforced by healers like you. Thanks Lisa! ❤️

Here in 2024! Biggest lesson I needed to hear was that I have nothing to prove to anybody. I’ve always hated being perceived and have tried my hardest to cater to everyone’s needs and wants. Recent events have shown that it’s not always possible, not even with the people you’re closest to. Someone once told me that we’re not gonna have the exact relationship we want with others, and that’s okay. Letting go of people’s opinions of my character is something I desperately need to work on, starting now!

Thank you, Lisa. I am now giving myself permission to move forward in the better version of myself so I can grow regardless of what people think of me. I really needed to hear the part about how we are trying to control other people's perception or judgment of us. It recently came to light for me that I have codependency issues that I need to work through. I can get so caught up in what other people think, believe, and say about me. My #BOL is that it's safe and neccessary for me to let go of trying to control other people's perception of me. It's tiresome! And it's distracting me from investing all of that time and energy into cultivating and evolving myself into the woman I'm becoming. Thank you, Lisa!

Hi Lisa, It took me a till I got out of high school to not worry about what people thought about me. I realized that I had to like and love myself so much, and when I fell in love with myself and realized that was a wonderful person, that I didn't worry about what people thought, because I brought my best self forward, with my morals, and since that time, I have always been a people magnet. They see who I am with my bright light surrounding me! I love your shows! Your bright light shines always! Thank you so much for YOU! 😊💖

Thank you Lisa. I can't tell you how much I appreciate what you're doing. Saying the words of truth in a very loving way, helping people like me stepping towards our better future self. God bless you. It's a NASTY business trying to feel validated or understood. Urgh. I'm done seeking agreement elsewhere but from myself. My job is to love myself and love people regardless of their opinions about me.

Lisa, I thank God for you and for him giving you the ability to do what you do to effect so many lives in such a positive way! God has been ministering to me about this same issue of people and their perception of me. I'm "going through" the process and expect to come out being able to let go!!! I love it! The process is difficult at times and I know I contribute to that, at times but well worth it! Please keep contributing!!

Hello this message is so powerful in my life. I took notes.....several of them. One of the things that stood out for me was divorcing myself from trying to manage someone's perception of me for I need to stop being in the converting business. I am enough. I have two pages of notes to sit in and SELAH as the Bible says. Thank you for the delivery of this message. Beginning to end. I am saving this!

I needed to hear that other people's perception of me does NOT matter! My whole life I've been worried about being perceived a certain way and now ik that anyone else's perception of me is totally irrelevant 💯 and not my problem cause ik who and what I am and that is all that matters! Thank you so much Lisa

Lisa, I really need this. It stings a lot. Because I always find the need to monitor other people judgement of me. Now when I found me and love me more, as you said other people opinion is none of my business. Woah BOL.

I needed this i have relatives that are constantly judging me and putting me down and throwing passive aggressive comments at me to make me feel inferior. I need to remember that their view of me is none of my business and I don't have to surround myself with that energy.

My father made a comment that I took personal. See I'm 35 and I asked him to buy me hot Cheetos after church. We were in the same car. Then when we got home, I put some Cheetos in a plate and added cream lemon and salt, then my father made the comment: just like a little kid, you're like a little kid." Maybe he was playing around but coming from him I highly doubt it. And it's amazing how today I get this email on this topic because I got offended! Seriously. I have been trying to prove myself for years to them that I am enough without them helping me and that I am capable of being a mature adult and that comment just downed me. Thank you so much Lisa and God for Lisa's life.

Thank you Lisa! What I needed to hear today was that topic of yours, the message from your grandmother: Other people´s perception of me is not my business. + again, Let go of resistance... so, today, I am gonna be me, and this is enough. I have been thinking first for almost 50 years to that what others think about me. For now on, I am gonna think first how I think about me... let´s hope there will come more light out! Thank you for sharing this, thank you for your light
