Фонетически, или как там его. Короче у итальянцев когда они говорят на русском нет тяжелого акцента, по звукам алфавита языки впринципе очень похожи.

I'm not gonna say anything about your accent, because it's almost absent, but your vocabulary is shocking me, you know so many words, it's really surprising it's really amazing

He didn't make a single mistake in the whole video! And his vocabulary is huge, his level is enough to work as a Russian language/Russian literatury professor in some top-ranked western university.

BTW, I've been struggling with Mandarin Chinese last several months (I'm a newbie in Chinese but speak several European languages, as well as Persian and know basic modern stardard Arabic) and finally I've found some ultimate tables of Mandarin phonetic series (形声）, which allow you (in addition to radicals) to memorize Chinese characters much easier. Basically there are at most 1203 phonetic sets which allow you to "guess" the approximate pronunciation of pictophonetic characters which comprise more than 80% of all characters. And that makes learning Chinese a much funnier and creative endeavour. Here's the link - chinese.exponode.com/r2_4.htm. These are traditional characters, but they may be easily converted using for example NJStar Chinese WP Version 6.20. There's also a lot of other interesting stuff on that website.

Я русский воспринимаю как самый простой мировой язык, практически диалект, потому что я из Чехии. Но понятно, что для неславянских носителей он безумно сложный. Не боюсь сказать, что он почти наравне с китайским.

Скорее всего иметь терпение и не бояться погружаться в язык любым способом. Just have patience and don't be afraid to just immerse yourself in Russian waters, be it through books, Russian meetups (in NYC, you could go to Russian bars literally made for learning the language.), and even listening to Luca talk in Russian with the subtitles. Using the name of God who gave you life in vain is blasphemy and breaking the 3rd commandment. Repent, trust in Christ and obey Him, that's the only way to heaven. Everybody sinned (lied, stolen, blasphemed, etc) so everybody needs Jesus the Savior. Open up a Bible, attempting to read it won't hurt you. God bless everybody. ❤

Все верно я итальянский парень мне 20 лет решил выучить русский год назад и очень рад за это решение ))) крутой язык и обеспечил познакомиться ближе русский менталитет , и совсем неожиданно признал что я гораздо ближе к русскому человеку чем к итальянскому. Да и конечно разницы есть, но у каждого свои , особенно среди итальянцев)

Очень советую послушать Linguamus (Мустафа). Он даже грамотнее говорит на русском, чем большинство русских. А глубина его знания русского языка, будто бездонное. Он знает 13 языков. Его канал на ютюбе Linguamus . Он не просто полиглот, а еще лингвист по профессии.

Смотрю это видео, чтобы понять до какого уровня в глазах иностранцев можно дорасти, изучая английский язык. И я скажу вот что! Я поражён! Очень круто и впечатляюще! Меня такие видео мотивируют и заряжают учить и совершенствовать английский дальше!

Не в глазах иностранцев, а в глазах англоговорящих, американцев, британцев, австралийцев, новозеландцев, канадцев, и.т.д. И да, для них это уже стало такой обыденностью, что уже их этим не удивить. Если хотите произвести впечатление на иностранца, попробуйте выучить суахили например.

As a native Russian speaker I can say your proficiency in this language is exceedingly good. Your grammar and vocabulary are on point. You have a slight accent but I guess there's no point for you to close 2%-5% gap between non-native and native accents cause it would take so much time and effort to get a little result. I'm on my way to reaching early intermediate level of Japanese and mastering reading in English. I wish I could speak at least 5 languages in 10 years that well considering my English is at high level (I'm not one to judge though), semi-forgotten French (it was in intermediate state) and now I'm learning Japanese.

@@ChrisBattrick Es muy interesante, porque yo soy armenio pero apenas hasblo armenio porque mi padre y mis abuelos no me lo enseñaron, es un idioma bastante difícil y tiene alfabeto totalmente differente. Vivo en Kazajistán y mi lengua materna es ruso. También muy poco hablo kazajo. No obstante de todo soy un aficcionado de idiomas, estudiaba inglés en escuela, aprendí español por mi cuenta usando internet. También hablo italiano, polaco y francés. Te aviso que para aprender armenio hay muy pocos resursos y es casí impossibile hacerlo solo.

As I said before, Luca's Russian is great. Needless to say, Italian phonology helps in mastering the pronunciation somewhat.

Thank you for the video, Luca! I'm casually learning Russian atm, so this comes at the right time. 🙂 My "trick" to learning the keyboard was to just type all vocab and sentences with a chart of the keyboard layout on screen. Did the same thing with Korean. After a while my brain just gave up and commited it all to (eternal muscle) memory. 😁 I have question, though: I've been trying to wrap my head around the Russian "R" - so it's trilled, I get that. But it kind of sounds different from e.g. Italian, maybe more like Bavarian? Am I imagining things? (This is not the first time I'm getting confused... actually, if you could one day make a video comparing all the "R" sounds you've encountered so far, that'd be fantastic!)

The r in Russian is more or less a tapped r, the same sound in the Italian parlare (the first r), or the tt in the English Butter

I found the Cyrillic keyboard quite easy, actually, when I posted a copy of the keyboard viewer handy to my screen. Then as I found the letter and typed it (without looking at the keyboard; I'm a touch-typer), I also sounded out the word. That way I became more familiar with both the typing and the sounds of the letters. Yes, it may be slower at the beginning, but the arrangement of the keys is so much easier to use that I soon caught up.

Hey Luca, do you think mastering the Russian or the German case system has been more difficult for you? I’ve recently picked up Russian and as a native German speaker I have been wondering about this for quite a while. Since you have studied both languages I hope you might be able to answer my question. Of course The Russian case system is inherently more complex with its two additional cases and distinction between animate and inanimate nouns. However in Russian the gender of a word can mostly be deducted by looking at the ending of a word. In German the gender of a word is more or less completely arbitrary. So even if you normally know exactly when to put „der,den,des,die,…“, finding the correct article/ending evolves into a guessing game if you happen to not know the gender of a given word. My theory is that Russian might actually have the advantage here, since most of the time its quite clear that a given word-ending goes with a certain gender. Would love to hear your thoughts. Hey Luca, you`re always talking about tackling "the castle" from all four sides. Listening, speaking, reading and WRITING. Have you learned Cyrillic handwriting? If so, how? Any advice on resources? I`m learning Bulgarian and decided to learn how to write it by hand but unfortunately I haven`t found much advice out there. I thought maybe you could help! Arrrggh, Russian is on my ever growing "short" list of languages to take up in 2021... and the decision is only getting harder. Luca, I remember reading an article of yours in which your mentioned the Russian keyboard thing... Would you be able to explain what you mean? Do you actually BUY a physically different keyboard to plug in when you're using Russian, or do you download a program that converts the QWERTY keyboard to Russian or something? I'm interested because Russian and Serbian are both languages that I'm considering for 2020. Thanks, you champion!

You don't have to buy a physical keyboard, you just have to change the language option in the menu of your pc. However there are different kind of keyboard available: the standard Russian keyboard has the letter disposed as if it were a real keyword which means that the letters won't corrispond to those in the English keyword (i.e if you type on the letter a it will be ф in Russian which is a f), it is very inconvenient because you have to buy stickers or try to remember where the letters are. However if you choose the setting 'mnemonic Russian' (not sure of the name since my computer is not in English) when typing the letter on your English keyboard, the Russian letter with the corresponding sound/transcription will appear instead. Hope I was clear enough

I'm just starting out learning Russian. I am also learning my first foreign language, Spanish, at the same time. Do you think it's a bad idea when I only just reached B1 in Spanish? To me, they seem different enough that I don't confuse them.

I like that type of videos, which are not in English, despite I understood nearly nothing. I can read a bit in Cyrillic and know some random words in Russian. But I got an impression of the language. I am looking for a little bit more difficult language and at the moment Arabic or Russian are the candidates.

Hi Luca, Believe it or not I prefer to use the Russian keyboard which is has the difficult layout when I type in Russian, Or the similarities would overlap and that would make it confusing. And I am comfortable doing it like this.

Очень советую послушать Linguamus (Мустафа). Он даже грамотнее говорит на русском, чем большинство русских. А глубина его знания русского языка, будто бездонное. Он знает 13 языков. Его канал на ютюбе Linguamus . Он не просто полиглот, а еще лингвист по профессии.

Учил 13 ЯЗЫКОВ, говорю на 5 языках. Некоторые из них на высоком уровне, а обожаемый мною великий могучий и любимый РУССКИЙ ЯЗЫК уже стал вторым родным языком.. Я лингвист. Linguamus, I am interested in corresponding with you. I studied Japanese for a few years as a high school student, but wasn’t motivated to do my homework, learned to speak Spanish fluently a few years later, and finally just about 220 days ago began to study Русский язык. Изучение русского языка принесло мне столько радости и воодушевило меня, что я начал изучать итальянский и немецкий языки. Cuando me enteré en la confusión que a uno se enfrenta cuando está tratando de explorar tan distintas idiomas a la vez, me dí cuenta de la necesidad de estudiar más profundamente las fundaciones lingüísticas para poder mejor manejarlos, y entonces empecé a estudiar el Latín y el Griego. Una volta iniziato quel processo, ho deciso di iniziare a rispolverare anche il mio giapponese e, prima che me ne rendessi conto, stavo facendo nuove amicizie che volevano che studiassi le loro lingue target con loro. Mi sono dilettato in danese, Hindi, Mandarino, ed Hebraico, ma il mio grande amore in questo momento è il Russo. Ich muss sagen, dass ich ein Fan von Luca war und kürzlich von Ihnen gehört habe, war ich aufgeregt, Ihren Beitrag hier zu sehen, wenn auch vor einem Jahr. Fortasse enim, ut loquerer in futurum. Sic fore ut ordinem vestrum voluntas mea fiet.
