How to Layout & Install the Rim Joist of a Small Treehouse Platform
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This is the 14th video in a series hosted by Treehouse Master, Pete Nelson, on how to build a safe treehouse platform using our Tree Fort Hardware System. In this video, Pete and his son, Henry, demonstrate how to layout, cut and install the rim component of the joist layer on a small treehouse platform. This treehouse platform is supported by our Tree Fort Hardware System.
Our Tree Fort Hardware System (referred to as "Backyard Hardware" in this video series) is a simplified and more economical version of the standard & heavy duty treehouse hardware we use in larger builds. This Tree Fort Hardware System is designed for small scale builds, think: kid-scale tree forts, sunset decks or tree gazebos.

I love You are work
These are great videos. One thing I wish you would have explained is how are you fastening the end of the joist block where there is already a joist block. It’s obvious on the open end where you have access to screw through the joist into the block, but where the previous block is screwed in you must have to use some kind of toenailing. Do you go into the top or sides and how many screws? Keep up the good work
Ciao Pete , i follow you on TV from many Years ,but , i dont know how the joists are fixed into the beams. Thank u
Thank you for these. Are those structural screws to use to attach the rim joist?
Hey, Pete. How many types of chalk is in there? I think the chalk looks good.
I’ve always want to build one. do I need a permit to build one ?
