Hey lovelies! Hope you enjoyed our video! Our editor brought to our attention of a small error at 20:45. The product displayed is actually from Bybi Beauty, not Paula's Choice. Just thought we put it out there in case anyone was wondering 😅😅 Hope you stay safe!

Hi ladies can you please do a video on ingredients/ products to avoid- products you hate and why! For example I was using witch hazel toner twice per day and I looked on the Paulas choice website and saw how awful it is for the skin! You both are so positive in your videos but I hope you can show us some more “hard stops” in skincare!

Please make a video on the best skincare for different climates e.g hot, humid & tropical climates or dry, arid & desert, cold polar climates etc. Moving to Africa, most of my favourite skincare products did not work as well and I was quite confused.

*Notes I took during the video finl part* - Always patch test. - Start with one active at a time. Using too much can lead to sensitized and irritated skin. - Understand your skin and its reactions - Fact, it takes consistency and time to see benefits. No quick fixes. - Fact, building a healty and solid routine now can benefit your later years.

*Notes I took during the video part 2* *Azelaic Acid* - Naturally occuring acid found in our skin. - Derived from Grains like Barely, Wheat and Rye. - Fun fact: It's gluten free! - It has anti-microbial properties to kill acne-causing bateria. - It calms redness, pigmentation, acne marks and rosacea. - Save to use if you have fungal acne. - Save for breastfeading and pregnant women, but always patch test and consult experts! *Other ingriedients and Azelaic Acid* - Azelaic Acid + AHA (Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, Gylcolic Acid)/PHA: These chemical exfoliants will do their job by unclogging pores and azelaic acid will kill de acne bacteria. (Paula's Choice, 10% Azelaic Acid Booster) - Azelaic Acid + Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): Niacinamide can brighten skin etc. First Azelaic Acid then Niacinamide, because Niacinamide has a higher pH than Azelaic Acid. - Azelaic Acid + Retinols (Vitamin A): Retinol has simlair purposes. - Azelaic Acid + Hylaronic Acid *Azelaic Acid Products* - Paula's Choice, 10% Azelaic Acid Booster - Paula's Choice, Antioxidant Pore Purifier (it contains the derivative of Azelaic Acid called Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate) - The Ordinary, Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% - First Aid Beauty, Skin Rescue Oil-Free Mattifying Gel Moisturizer

@@lcforrealzz same here! apparently the silicone in the ordinary azelaic acid makes it really hard for the niacinamide to be absorbed into the skin. Do you think we need to worry about the higher pH of the azelaic acid if we're applying it last? And do you usually use it after or before your moisturizer?

THE FIRST VIDEO WAS INSANELY GOOD. IT LITERALLY CHANGED MY LIFE. My current routine is: Vitamin C Serum -> Sunscreen -> after 7 hours -> Oil Cleanser -> Shower -> Hydrating Cleanser -> Hyaluronic Acid -> Occulusive -> after 3 hours -> Tretinoin. God Bless Quarantine. My skin has never been this happy. I am also using Niacinamide + Zinc for my back after cleansing.

*Notes I took during the video part 1* *Arbutin* - Derived from bearberies, blueberries and cranberries. - Gentle alternative to potent brightening products (like hydroquinone). - Arbutin will stop the enzyme that stimulates the pigmentproduction. - It is the most stable around a pH of 4,9. - It works effectively from 3% concentrations. - It works good at night and day. - It works well with different skintypes. *Other ingriedients and Arbutin* - Arbutin + Vit C: best brightening combo. (Product: Obagi Clincal Vitamin C + Arbutin Brightening Serum) - Arbutin + AHA/BHA: prevents overproduction of new, fresh skin as AHA and BHA are chemical exfoliants. - Arbutin + Hylaronic Acid *Arbutin Products* - The Ordinary, Alpha Arbutin 2% & Hylaronic Acid - The Inkey List, Alpha Arbutin Brightening Serum - Be The Skin, Purifying White Waterful Toner - Paula's Choice, Radiance Renewal Mask - Missha, Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream

*Notes I took during the video part 4* *Backuchiol* - Works best at 0,5% - 2% concentrations. - Derived from Babchi (a plant) - Shown to offer potent benefits of retinol without the irriaton.(Retinol can cause some dryness due to the skin runing over rapidly. Also, some retinol might be dreived from animal products) - It is generally pregnacy-safe, BUT always consult an expert before using! - It stabiles potent ingriedents. - Use during the night. *Other ingreidents and Backuchiol (BA)* - BA + PHA - BA + Vitamin C - BA + Salicalyic Acid (great for mild acne) - BA + Retinol (Vitamin A): BA helps lessen the potential irritation from retinol). - BA + Suqalane *BA Products* - Paula's Choice, 0,3% Retinol + 2% Backuchiol Treatment. - Biossance, Suqalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum. - Bybi Beauty, 1% Bakuchiol in Olive Auqalane Oil Booster. - Ole Henriksen, Goodnight Glow Retin-ALT Sleeping Creme.

I was actually searching up if azelaic acid was gluten free but couldn't find anything about it in Spanish! I started researching about acids as I have acne scarring and by what I was reading it's good for that, but I was afraid it would have gluten as my skin is really sensitive to it (I can't use any makeup or creams with wheat for example or I would get really bad hives all over my skin, my skin would start itching all over and sometimes my eyes would start swelling up). Thanks for the awesome content and all the information!

Always use Azelaic acid if you're pregnant. Avoid using retinoid acid products including retinol, retin-A, tretinoin etc.

For the skin care products that don't label the amount of ingredients by percentage such as Alpha Arbutin, is there some way we can calculate a rough percentage looking at the ingredient list? For example I use TO arbutin 2%. If I wanted to switch to say the Missha snail cream or paula's choice, how can I know which one uses a higher percentage of alpha arbutin?

Are copper peptides the same as peptides? Because I use the skin fix triple barrier lipid peptides with the inkey list retinol beforehand and have had some good success with it. I'm just curious if I should switch it up...
