This video shows how to lay patio pavers from start to finish. This project covers the removing of the top soil, pouring the concrete slab, the concrete edges and last but not least installing the concrete block pavers. This is a complex project that took us 2 months to complete, because of bad weather and the volume of work.
We used a backhoe digger to remove the top soil and to level the ground. It was essential for the process because we had to move out about 10 trucks of soil. The concrete slab is needed because I will have my cars going over it to the garage / work area.
As a personal tip, I recommend you to use a laser level and set marks all over the future patio, so you can have everything aligned properly. We have the patio a 1 degree slope, so it drains the water to the lawn area.
The concrete is reinforced with rebar mesh #4. This is needed to hold the concrete slab together on the long run. We also had large river stones compacted under the slab to provide even better support. I estimate my patio is truck safe. I had my tipper truck fully loaded (8 tons in total) run over it and it didn't complain at all.
Most of the video was filmed as a time lapse so I cover everything from start to finish. Enjoy the video and let me know in the comment section what you think about my project.
Make sure you check out the rest of the playlist, so you can see all the big projects on my list. Most of them are part of the Countryside House Project.

Not sure if a train... but a big truck most certainly! I had 8 tons run over the pavers and it worked flawlessly
