How To Lay Herringbone Karndean Looselay DIY Flooring | Oh Abode

Karndean Looselay Longboard flooring is a DIY flooring that can be laid in any pattern. I opted for a herringbone pattern and wanted to show you how you can do it yourself using tackifier, a Stanley knife and caulk.
The colour used is Ashland Loose Lay Longboard.
Suitable for temporary and permanent installations, on existing wood flooring or concrete.
Full specifications and instructions can be found on Karndean.com.
Flooring was gifted.

Looks good. Karndean don't show this plank configured in herringbone, how is the flooring holding up since you laid it, have there been any gaps or issues?

Your video lighting makes this look somewhat a subtle grey in color which is what I am looking for but the website shows a brown/beige. What is your take on the color? Thanks.

It does have a very light grey tone to it, I’d say the colour in the video is pretty true to life :)

Just wondering how long it took you to lay it? And the square meters

The room’s about 16sqm (4.2mx3.8m) and it took me by myself, 10 hours from ripping up the existing carpet to siliconing the edges and moving the furniture back in

Wait you can just lay Karndean on concrete as simple as that? Or is there more to it than that? I’d rather spend my time than have to pay a fortune for fitting

This is part of their DIY range :) both Korlock and Looselay can be fitted without their installers! Korlock is more like laminate and will need an underlay I think, whereas this is looselay and it can be glued or dry fitted directly ontop of any level sound sub floor x

@@_OhAbode Karndean may have advised you, im certain they didn't work with you on it. Unless you are an approved installer? If you are that's even worse. As I said it was a great effort and the results are good.

@@euanwalker5619 it’s a sponsored video, I’m on their website and everything :) their looselay range is part of their DIY range. www.karndean.com/en-gb/floors/resources/media/blog/2020/may/jasmine-gurney/ Do please point me in the direction of your installation video though, I can pass it onto their marketing team and ensure they share it as the correct way of installing their product so they can change their installation guide x
