    This is an excellent tutorial . I have had my Otech for 4 months now and just pulled out my rotary this week. I am excited to tackle a full wrap and you really helped explain things perfectly.

    Hi, great video. I just wanted to mention another option to the 14mm head. If you’re not going to use the air you can just remove the cone from the 2” head. That will give you 37.7mm clearance. I made a little jig for myself so I could easily get the right focus (6mm) but like i said without the cone. Also I noticed you struggled to get the pointer in the right spot on top of the tumbler. You might already know this, but if you hit your speed button and change the speed to say 50 you can get it to move right where you want it. Just don’t forget to change the speed back other wise when you do your preview it will take forever! LOL . Anyway again great video, just wanted to give your viewers another option for the focus.

    Thank you for this video I do have one question. How do you keep the bottom part from warping? I’ll play around with this with just different images and everything on the bottom part is scrunched. I don’t see where you made any adjustments for that. Is there something I’m missing

    Fyi, you can remove the barrel spacer on the 4in head to get more space! You just have to alter your focal distance to account for the barrel height. Great video!

    So you dont raise the bottom to the same level as the top? You just basically set it up as a normal 20 oz tumblers but use the 4" head to compensate at 10mm? Great video!

    I am currently testing this, but in order for the tabs to not hit the rollers i have to move the tumbler down abit which increases the chances of it slipping while engraving. can you share any more tips on this or tell me what I'm doing wrong?

    My roller is moving the cup up so it’s not meeting at the start point. I don’t have the cup butted to the top because of the tabs. If I move the cup with the tabs closer to the wheel it hits the other wheel. What am I doing wrong? 😭

    So good video to start with, but.. I was watching this so I could start using my rotary to do tumblers from this company. Your focusing part just doesn't make sense.. After you level the tumbler as shown, you will need to focus your 10mm off the cup on the large end, not the smaller tapered end. if you do the smaller end as described, you will hit your tabs every time as they stick up 9.3mm already as it is. just not enough clearance clarence :)

  • @SimplySallie

    @SimplySallie

    Жыл бұрын

    You focus just above the tabs! I haven’t had any issues with mine ending up pixelated/blurry! It hasn’t hit the tabs either. Just know it is doable, I have made many of these 😊
