How to Konro

We've been getting a lot of questions about our Konro grills and we figured the best way to answer them was to fire up the grill.
You'll learn:
- How much binchotan charcoal you need to fill your grill
- How to light your binchotan
- How to extinguish your binchotan

Great video - can you rest the grill on a granite worktop or should it rest on something else?

Is that the medium wide version ? How durable is the black material which is all along the edges ? In hindsight, do you wish you had gone for the stainless steel frame version ?

Yes, it is the medium wide. The black material is steel and it holds up great, no issues yet. I do not wish I got the steel version instead, rather I will just get that one as well in the future. Very happy with the ceramic ones as they impart a nice umami flavour into the food.

How does the grill hold up in cold winter temps ?

Just fine!! We recommend if you store it outside in a barn, shed or unheated garage, that you bring it indoors the day before or at least a few hours before using it outside in the cold. This will ensure the fire bricks are not getting shocked by an extreme temperature change.
