thank you for not making this a 28 minute video!! What surprised me with corn is I planted 25 kernels and every single one grew, so now I'm going to be overwhelmed
Just so you and others know, the part that you called a tassel is called silks. The tassel is the male part of the stalk that is at the very top. The silks are the female part.
This video is the perfect length and addressed all of my questions. 😊
Great clip, thank you. Off to the garden now equipped with my wife's nails to see if we have lunch.
Me arab from arabica...you english peoples have nice ways of explaining..i would ratheer say positive way of explaining things which makes it more enjoyable than the corn itself ...excuse my falluja slow typing start..kiss and love...i mean peace n love
This is my first year ever growing corn. So this was VERY helpful!!!

Same for me first year for me growing corn having a corn patch so very cool such an interesting plant to watch and grow
My corn didn’t get very big this year but ironically it was the perfect size for my 3 year old to feel like he had a full one
Have a sweet corn garden and this was very useful.
I am Montagnard jarai tribe live in North Carolina I planted corn 4 years ago they are so beautiful when I harvested I gave to American friend they boiled eat they said so tasty better than corn from grocery store .
Goodness, your sunflowers swaying in the wind at the beginning of the video are so lovely.
Nice and simple explanations. Thanks for sharing.
In my small garden some corns are growing. Your video is helpful for me. Thank you so much🌹
Double-sided sticky tape she says Lol that was awesome! Thanks for the help for video
Thank you , this is my 2nd year growing corn. My first year we planted in clay soil and it didn't work out. This year they are in raiased garden beds and look great!

Great clip...helped alot....mwah!😘

Simple and direct ty!
Thank you that info was a big help
Great stuff, thanks!
Thank you so much!!! Its my first successful year with corn. I appreciate your video. 😅😇😊❤ also, you are so cute !!!!
Simple and Useful!
It looks like on blister or milking stage yet.The corn must be in dent stage with black layers at the tip of the kernel that is the time that the corn is ready to harvest or if the husks and silk is completely brown/dry
You answered all my questions in 2 minutes
Thank you. I did it right first try
Thank you!
Thanks
Nice sharing..thankyou👍❤
Brilliant video
Those are some really nice ears of corn 👍
I love some corn with my butter and salt. Only way to do it lol
Great video, one question how come you don’t Detassle the corn ? First year growing corn. Thanks for your time
Thanks love
Thank you.
Thank you
I'm growing corn mostly to feed chickens. Somebody suggested I can just leave the corn on plant and harvest it as I need it. What do you think of this idea? Any suggestions beyond that?
Thanks much
Thankyou
That's not the tassel. That's the silk. The tassel is the male flower. The silk is part of the female flower. :)
Thankyou :)
First time grower of corn love the video thanks for the info 🥰
Don't forget to pollenate the silks. If you're relying on wind in a small garden, your corn will likely be missing a lot of kernals.

That means they’ve gone to seed and can likely be planted next year!
What about the remaining corns that might not be as rip as the one you picked? Will they still be safe and grow?

when its ready to pick how long can i leave it on the stalk before it gets over ripe?

I would guess a window of about 7 days, maybe less if conditions are dry or if you have lots of caterpillars.
This is my 1st year growing 🌽 and I’m so confused!! Idk y my corn is chalky???!! Is it lack of nitrogen??
Thank you. My corn has a squishy 2 inches at the top...near the brown silk. Is this normal? It feels empty.

Sounds like poor polination, do you have may or just a few plants?

@@OjsMatte I picked them and each of them had an equal shriveled top 2 inches.. They had water and food...I think the heat was just too much.
I know how to tell when its reasdt ! when raccoons begin to go through it! NOT , but really I have been having raccoons going through my corn destroying some that I have worked so hard for!

Or the skunk. We had that one year, sadly we didn't know that until it went into the trap we placed inside the corn patch.
The corn for us has purple hair
I thought you had a bird on your arm @1:20
That corn legit wasn't ready yet though.
Those are silks not tassles.
You have lovely hands
Have the English become Americanized enough nowadays that they usually call maize "corn," like we do in the States? Or do they always add some word like "sweet" or "barley" in front of corn to narrow things down? Just wondering if you've advanced to our level yet...

Because there's a differnce between "sweet corn" & "field corn". google it & figure it out. Hint-it has nothing to do with the nationality of the grower😉
Lol super inefficient when you have to do 10000 of emmm 😂

Harvest the corn of your neighbor
Rats ate most of my corn :(
That blue nail varnish is very unappetising, and I wouldn't want it stuck into any ear of corn I was going to eat!!

Corn kobs are already nice so why spoil it with butter thats unhealthy for you anyway

Def not ruining good corn with a slab of butter, vomit.
