The difference between fake love and real love is that real love is not something you can earn. It is freely given, expecting nothing in return. If you are expecting something in return for your love then it's not love, it's a transaction.

Keep falling deeply in love with Jesus in the Eucharist, let Him satisfy the God sized hole in your heart. For He is the only one who satisfy that void. If you can also pray the Rosary daily; and ask God to send you your future spouse with these qualities; 1: That he fears God 2: That he's deeply, and madly in love with God in the Eucharist. 3: That he fasts at least Wednesdays, and Fridays 4: Devotion to the Rosary 5: A very pious heart 6: A knight in shining armor 7: A giga chad😁😍 No dude I'm being dead serious, don't settle for less. And do not let some dude offer you just sweets, because that only lasts mere seconds, and avoid the red flags in other words; adulterous men that will lead you away from God.

@@robertdelgadocapetillo8684 This is absolutely ridiculous, and completely the oposite to be Catholic. Men we are not consume productes, like a bag or shoes.

I am so curious about this playing out logistically for men and women. The thing is, benevolence for men and for women does not look exactly the same. I wonder what people's thoughts on gift-giving, paying for meals, offering to give up your seat, or letting go of personal preferences regarding a movie should look like at the beginning of courtship and throughout marriage. The reason I wonder this is because in the natural world, it is more often than not the males who display their benevolence first and at a greater cost. My suspicion is because females (even in animal mating ritual) are naturally more physically desirable by their very nature. If you don't believe me go and look up some birds of paradise mating videos. The things the males do to attract a mate are incredible. But I also think there is a formative aspect of these behaviors that reflects the duality and roles of men and women in dating and marriage. Namely, that men are actually called to lay down their lives in more concrete and visible ways. Whereas women often display their benevolence through their receptivity. I don't think that is often talked about in Catholic dating culture. It is GREAT for women to want to sacrifice their preferences for their beloved. But maybe the better question is : would that actually be formative and increase my partners capacity for holiness if I am the one to sacrifice here? Honestly, I think it is a way bigger red flag if a man is unwilling to budge on a movie pick, than if a woman is. I'm curious and open to other thoughts though!

Sometimes people just confuse desire and benevolence. They think that they have goodwill just because during the act of sex they prioritize their partner's pleasure first.

Fr Brett Brannen ( To Save a Thousand of Souls) CCC #825 Discerning and accepting one’s vocation is like building a pyramid. It must be constructed from the bottom up. A man will not be able to know and accept his secondary or particular vocation-marriage or priesthood, for example-until he has been seriously striving towards his primary vocation of holiness. Some have tried to do it in reverse, and almost always have failed

Even though I do agree, I’m proof that agreeing to being chaste is not necessarily a solid proof for love. I waited because he wanted to. But I still got married for the wrong reasons. I thought it was love, but I was just afraid of breaking up and be alone. (Marriage is annulled now)

Just getting to know this channel. Who is your audience and who are you targeting. If this is Catholic marriage prep I think it has to be more specific than just picking out movies. Sacrifice is very important. It is in giving that you receive. Financial matters is vital. I would love to teach this marriage prep course. I learned the very hard way.

Hey so I've been in this very great Christian relationship (both getting baptized Catholic and growing in chastity and prayer and overall just being new to a life in Christ) for 2 years and we have been talking about marriage for a long time. However my boyfriend still has not proposed (we are almost out of university, no debt). I was wondering what to do in the meantime (patience, preparation...) And also when is waiting just cowardice or another issue? Is it wrong of me to be so impatient?

Fr Brett Brannen ( To Save a Thousand of Souls) Our Primary Vocation is Holiness Happiness is doing the will of God. Interestingly, that could also be the definition of holiness. The primary and universal vocation of every person in the world is to be holy-to become like Jesus Christ. Christ-likeness is the only success recognized by God. Or, as St. Bonaventure said: “If you learn everything except Christ, you learn nothing. If you learn nothing except Christ, you learn everything.”11 Interestingly, the people who take holiness seriously are also the people who experience the most happiness here in this life. Why? Because our holiness is preparing us for the supreme happiness of heaven, the true destiny for which we were made, not some glimmer of happiness which we might experience here. Holiness directly leads to fulfillment and human flourishing, and the entire concept of vocation encompasses both. The first vocation of every baptized person is to become a saint. While that may seem daunting, the good news is that this vocation does not require any discernment. The Church and Sacred Scripture both tell us clearly and definitively that holiness is everyone’s primary vocation. The Church on earth is endowed already with a sanctity that is real though imperfect. In her members, perfect holiness is something yet to be acquired. Strengthened by so many and such great means of salvation, all the faithful, whatever their condition or state-though each in his own way-are called by the Lord to that perfection of sanctity by which the Father himself is perfect

I'm having trouble about distinguing if these feelings I have for my ex gf (we broke up recently from a 2y relationship due to some problems) are actually true love or just, as Christopher said, the raw materials of it. Since I had big trouble in the past trying tp figure out what her true good actually was (not only on chastity but also her own life) and I was really doubting if I loved her well since I wasn't able to see it. Now, even thou I would like to go back with her since I have these deep desires to connect and be in total communion with her, I know I have to stay back and wait. For her good and for my good (so we can both heal). But if these desires and feelings to know her more deeply again remain, I don't totally know what to do. Maybe talk to her and see if rebuilding things is possible. Thou I should also be cautious, since I have to know if she actually wills my good. Pray for me and for her.

I am so happy that when my life changed, NOT MONEY, NOT SEX has changed my life for the best. People must sacrifice their riches and sex for the love of eternity. Thank God we don't have sex and money in heaven. We have so much better things than that. And I am happy to experience love from so many other people that shows pieces of eternity. We should never lower marriage about money and sex. What we sacrifice is time and experiences. I have met people who have given up their lives to choose a sacramental life instead of getting married, giving their lives to perform sacraments and teach the truth, and if it wasn't for a few I wouldn't be the woman I am now.

On the topic of chastity, Paul makes it clear that "if you lack self control, it is better to marry than to burn with lust". He even goes on to say that it is better to stay single than to marry, but you need to have self control or no desire at all. For some people that desire within them is far greater than their ability to exercise self control, so for these people it is better for them to get married than to let Satan tempt them. It will give them a healthy outlet to express their sexual desires as it was intended by God. For some have one gift and others have a different gift. We should not prevent anyone from pursuing their gifts because that is wrong. Celibacy is a good thing but it becomes a bad thing when it is forced upon people. E.g. this I believe is what inevitably leads to situations where priests abuse children and teenagers get pregnant behind their parents backs. Because children are easy to influence and they are all the priests see all day long, having a strong sexual desire can cause them to be tempted to express their desires in an unhealthy way such as this.
