I always thought when a man was in love with you he sent flowers, sent candy, bought you expensive gifts and took you on exotic vacations. I have been married for 54 years (I was 19 and he was 21). My husband did none of these. What he did do was respect me, took care of me during two bouts of breast cancer and bladder cancer, does laundry, pays bills, when we brought our newborn home from the hospital, he let me sleep and got up with the baby every night and fed and rocked him. He had a full time job but did all this because he loved me and our baby. He is my Rock. I thank God everyday for him. Three years ago he had Quadruple bypass surgery. He also suffered two mini strokes but by the grace of God, he survived both and is doing very well. I am so very blessed.

I like what you said. I am someone who will be alone forever .... not loved by anyone. My family physically disabled me in childhood and now I'm crippled forever. I will never experience being loved by a man and will never experience being married to a man. I can't have children either because of the damage to my spine. Unfortunately a lot of relationships out here are one-sided with too many selfish people in them. People say they fall out of love but I wonder if it was really the person that they love or did they love what the person does for them. I know he loves me for me, regardless of how I look or act at times. My husband is was extremely nervous of me when I use to work for a hotel at night. He would always remind me to take my gun with me to work. Thankfully, nothing ever happened...other than some rude ass customers. And when men staying there hit on me, I always stayed professional so they never got too friendly. Hey, what u r saying is actually a contradiction because if you are with someone who loves you, and you may not be in that much love with him, what about him then? Is he not with someone he loves but who actually does not like him the way he does? Is this not being selfish? In the same way, you can be with someone you love, but who may not feel that much love for you....relationships are complicated.

My hubby does all of this. When our daughter was born,hole in lung, in NICU,after emergency Csection, after I got home,was in bed with him,he was so upset our newborn daughter was alone at the hospital, he asked me if I minded that he got up and went to the hospital to visit her. (parents could visit anytime). He went to be with her. Melts my heart thinking about it even though it was 18 years ago now.

Happy to say my husband does all of the four actions discussed and more to let me know how much I am loved. My husband does not just show/tell me once in a while, he makes sure to let me know every day throughout the day. I am truly blessed.

Great video, as usual. I own a few of your books too. Awesome advice. I'm dating a man who does these. #2 example. We were holding hands, walking to the parking lot of a large mall. We stepped from the sidewalk, and he squeezed and pulled my hand toward him as a protective gesture. It was subtle. I told him I appreciated this gesture. He didn't even realize he'd done it. One thing he said is he really likes that I tell him I appreciate what he does for me.

I LOVE my wife! Protection is the #1 key in a relationship with your significant other.

Chad Massey not necessarily. It depends. Sometimes you quit seeing each other or not. If there is still some value to it like you get along together very well (which woild be kinda strange if you got divorced) then yes. If not then not. I have ppl whom i dont wanna see anymore. Its hard to do it at first but it is always better if you know that in the long term you dont want to have to do anything with that person anymore. Though in my case those were school friends and such. You live and you learn and i like my new surroundings a lot better ;)

Mines to, when I was really sick he saw me at my worst, made me hot water bottles, cooked for me, cleaned up my vomit, played my favorite music, massaged me, told me I was beautiful. He said he would wait for me if I die and we can be together again in paradise. I'm selfish I fully expect him to keep his promise, I don't want to live without him, he is my forever soul mate. Thank you to my God for my greatest blessing and your Son Christ Jesus for making it all possible, to love my husband forever. I can't wait to live the real life in paradise and have more babies that look exactly like him.

Pretty Rosie God honors marriage but you need to read scripture, 2 Timothy3:2 for men will be lovers of themselves. Lovers of money, Boasters, proud, blasphemers, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a FORM of Godliness but denying its power. And for such people turn away! So God does not call you to just get married then he’ll bless it. That is a lie. Because men like that, make CAPTIVES of GULLIBLE women. So you have to ask yourself? Is marriage the end all? I always thought that way, too, until I met an old man that still glowed every single time she came in the room after 65 years of wedded bliss. Or he would shut the TV off immediately whenever she was trying to talk to him. He totally adored her. After several bad relationships in my life, I now compare every man to him. If they don't measure up to him, I say bye bye.

Many cases yes but there are guys out there that keeps this! Been married 5 years soon 6 and he does all of these E V E R Y day! I get to choose tv programs because it really doesn't matter much to him as long as he gets to see me happy. He cares for me and protects me first and foremost above every single thing in our lives and we have 100 animals depending on us and our responsibility. I come first, always. When I tell a problem he knows I can probably solve it on my own but he does lay out input that I can use if I wish to. Lastly, we have never spent a night apart and have never argued and that's because we respect each others space and when we communicate we lay out ideas and perspective and find common ground and go for that plan. In disagreements we agree to disagree and drop it because no issue is heavy enough to be worth losing a day's happiness of loving eachother and enjoying each others company. They say love is blind and it's quite true. We both have flaws of course but because of love they don't bother us, they are so small that they don't count and some quirks even feels kinda adorable. :) He strives to keep me safe and happy, I strive to keep the household together when he is away and it just works!
