18:31 little tip for an even smoother work from someone who has been knitting for almost 10 years: try bringing your stitches even closer to the tip, like really push all the stitches on the left needle to the top of your needle (same goes for the right side) and use index fingers to makes sure the stiches do not slip off of the needle.. if you always insert your needle way closer to the top (5mm to 1cm max), your stitches will be way more even and smooth and they'll all have the same size (instead of some being more stretched than others, if that makes any sense). basically if theres less space on the top of the needle, there will also be less stretching. you might have to get used to it, but it's really worth it + it is faster in the long run because you don't have to push the stitches up as often:))

Ive been crocheting for about 2 years and your tutorials are what helped me learn how to start! I decided that I want to learn how to knit about a month ago but found it kinda hard watching videos and couldn’t get the hang of it. But when I saw you’ve started making knitting videos too I got super excited and found this tutorial super easy to follow! Thanks so much for your videos love them so much!

Thanks for the tutorial! I do a lot of crochet and have only knitted a bit, I’m gonna give it another attempt using this tutorial and will make a scarf for my auntie for Christmas! 😊
I always wanted to know how to avoid the curling of the scarf, now I know!, thanks!!
I love hobbii, saved me through the pandemic
I haven’t even started knitting, but I loved the repetition in the video. I find myself in any tutorial rewinding and rewinding 😬🙄 Now, I just have to keep watching. Thank you for that! I’m trying to make my first scarf with circular needles. I have used looms before, so I’m a little familiar with knit and purl stitches.
Thanks for the tutorial, I kinda messed up the last loop when casting off and it star to unknit but I managed to make it closed with a knot. And yeah it looks horrendous lol, I started with 18 loops I think and somehow ended up with 22, so it looks like a child scarf glued to an adult scarf halfway through, technically it's not that poorly made outside that size problem. It was a nice first project, I was initially making a scarf for my 4yr old son and finally I gave it to my 9 months old son as there was no point wasting another yarn to finish a botched project and it was the right size for the younger one. But I will do another one and I will take care to not split the wool and create new loops in the process so this time I could give my elder one a nice scarf.
knitting is so much harder than crochet for me, but i might try this anyway. you make great tutorials!

I don’t think this is the best video for true beginners , but once you learn skills that fit for you it the best to start a project like a scarf
So I messed up my first scarf I'm making. But this video gives me hope for the second one I'm going to make👌

I bought knitting needles a few weeks ago and every time I try using them I have a mental breakdown 😭 but literally thank you SO much because this made perfect sense and now I love the flow of knitting! I will say I made some mistakes and some of it is uneven, but I'll just hope future me doesn't hate it too much 😂
thanks ...it was so easy to follow
any recommendations for type/brand of yarn to buy? this would be my frist knitting project and would love hobbii yarn, but also it seems quite expensive! thanks :))
Hi, thank you for this well explained tutorial. How many gram of wool do you need for this scarf?

How long did this scarf take to make? Looks beautiful!
Great tutorial, I’ve been crocheting for over a year but I’m totally new to knitting, this was very helpful! (Btw I find it kinda funny that you still instinctively say “insert your hook” when you really mean “needle” lol)
I can’t wait to start knitting a scarf after years of procrastinating!! I have a question: can I also buy yarn that is recommended for 2,5-3,5mm if I want the pattern to be very tight?
Question! How do we change balls of yarns once we finish one?
So to continue when you’re finished one ball of yarn do you tie the two ends together and continue like that?
Hi there, what ply is the wool you're using? I'm from Australia so can't purchase that particular wool.
Interesting, I wonder if different technique is used in different countries. I was taught instead of wrapping the thread around the needle to move the needle in a circular kind of motion to grab the thread. Achieves the same.
Amazing video!! Okay so I am absolutely new into knitting but I do crochet tho! Also super scared of knitting! As a newbie what kind of needle should I buy? Circular or the straight needle? Also what size should I buy? I am totally confused 😢 here is the thing I am interested in making garments like sweater, cardigan, tops, scarfs, Bennie etc... So could you please help me out?? I am totally loosing my mind 😭😭 thanks ❤❤
This is so cute, I just bought the yarn to make it! I'm just curious about the measurements of the scarf. Thank you~

I did the same thing! But I realized it’s a small mistake with yarn placement at the very beginning when you’re putting the slip knot on the needle. The string attached to the ball of yarn needs to clearly be the back string and the loose one is the one in the front that you’re taking yarn from as you’re casting on. I used this video to figure it out: kzread.info/dash/bejne/h3yg1blpp6yXZJc.html Look at her yarn placement at the very beginning and copy it. Hope you got it!

when i knot and purl alternate then my scarf curls up- is that normal?
how long does it take for a beginner to finish the ascarf. i feel like i have been on 1 inch forever lol
shouldn’t we need to leave last stitch without knitting and just transfer it to the other needle ? otherwise the stitches will increase as we knit
is the second part a cast on just asking
how long will it take to finish this?
Hii I loved the tutorial and I’m a beginner and I don’t understand why it’s necessary to do the pearl stitch instead of just knitting the whole way. Can someone explain?
I knitted and didn’t notice how I ran out of yarn and I don’t want to buy because the store is very far away, but I also have other colors of yarn, but I can’t change the color because this pattern is different, and besides, I couldn’t be a beginner would you help
How much quantity of wool is needed for this project?
Can i use weight 3 yarn????
Do you need circular needles? Or can I just use longer needles that fit the whole row? (I’m new to all this so sorry I don’t know any terminology)
What is the purpose of long tail when you're gonna cut it later
very pretty scarf!!! Im trying to do it too :)) could you please give the weight of the scarf?

You might be doing the purl and the knit stitch the wrong way around? When the bumps are close/touching the needle you purl and when they’re not you knit. Idk if that’s the problem but it might be?

hey, hope someone can help! on one side, my scarf is getting wider all of a sudden (must've added an extra stitch or something), how do i make it a bit more narrow again? also, i sometimes have the problem that two loops on the needle seem to be crossed over each other, and when i get to them its hard to do the stitch right because something is wrong, how can i fix this? ty!

I am going insane right now!!! i am new to knitting and your tutorial is so easily understandable and repetitive and i love it!:) BUT in the beginning your ball of yarn attached yarn is in the front and the strand of yarn on the back. And when you are done casting on, it is the other way around and i don't know when it switched:/ For me, I started the same way as you but in the end my ball of yarn is still in the front and the random strand of yarn is in the back. So when i turn it around, it is the wrong way and i cant continue. Where the fuck am I going wrong? can someone please help me😩
