Fun fact: Ork faction gretchin can have their heads swapped with genestealers and/or metamorphs if you want little familiars for tokens or as base decoration, and the runtherd's grot grabbin' pole makes for a good biophagus staff or the stick for a cult banner. Quick and easy way to snazz up your cult for 15 Queenbucks.

This is how I've done it for my character-heavy Imperial Guard army too; hilariously enough using the Neophyte Hybrid kit a lot too; just because that kits 'beat up mining/space suit' look is perfect for ragged irregular forces and I'm playing Space Pirates. Also just a lot of other random bits and stuff I had laying around from other projects. Honestly kitbashing is probably my favorite part of the hobby.

Fun fact, if you make a Goliath truck instead of a rock-grinder you can use the 2 large leftover bits as terrain by attaching bits of plastic to prop them up.

My Abominant is the (free mini) Saurus Warrior for the body, with spare arms and head from the Aberrants kit 👍

Ah Kitbashing. Such a fun art. I've turned a Runtherd into a Big Mek with KFF using a spare KFF from a meganobs box, a slugga and one of like, a thousand spare Ork Heads with gubbins on it. Or converting a Guard Sentinel into a Deff Dread with some spare bits from my first one.

A good chunk of the second half of this video feels oddly familiar... :P You mentioned Cadians and Catachans. I would bring up the Veteran Guardsmen and Command Squads as well. The Veterans have many bits appropriate for conversions you discussed ("guy with medic stuff", "guy with comms stuff", "guy with explody stuff"), as do both Command Squad kits (especially the Catachan one). Another great source are Kill Team kits (of which the Veteran Guardsmen are one). All the human ones have potential for GSC conversions.

The more complex version of buying the noviciates kit for sisters and using them as the characters they are training to be, this covers more ground though

I had two spare acolyte hybrids from this eBay lot I bought, so to make 2 Acolyte Iconwards I took the back banner from my Kabalite Warrior box and my Hand of the Archon kill team and glued them on their backs. Boom, 2 Iconwards or icon bearers The new Solar Auxilia box is prime kitbashing material, making characters, Neophytes, and vehicles. Just say your cult found an ancient guard armory and took everything that still worked

I built the table for my Nexos out of the spare parts of the Goliath kit in my combat patrol. It's built from the extra hatch you don't use when building the different versions.

I scratch-built a Nexos from various parts in the bits box after watching your previous video that mentioned kit bashing. I also turned an Acolyte into another Primus. Thanks for the inspiration!

just starting genestealers as i have guard and nids already so seems the logical next step. This was very helpful thank you!

There is more to the cannon fodder box than just as is, you can use left over neophyte arms and torsos to make 3 neophytes extra per box of neophytes. You just cut the cannon fodder off at the waist and shave down until the GSC upper fits. They are a little less armoured from the waist down, and lack the loincloth and the ribbed shinguards, but some basic greenstuffing fixes that if you are bothered by that. You can't really tell that they aren't 100% gw looking at them from top down. If you use the masked cannon fodder heads on the neophyte bodies you get a very Red Faction 1 space miner/Ultor corporation look and can use the regular heads with the other conversions you suggested, just shave off the protruding bits on the mask and make them a neck with a ball of greenstuff. If you have a ton of spare arms and heads, you can use Stargrave Mercenary bodies with the GSC leftovers to make 20 neophytes who does security/pmc gigs instead of mining, paying the same price for double the bodies of a neophyte box.

1:46 side note this is why I'm BEGGING people to give One Page Rules a chance, - models agnostic but, with general recommendations for base sizes (28mm for troops, 32mm for leaders and elites, etc)

Cool video. I bought a box of Necromunda Escher Gangers, i kitbashed most of my leaders from them. My gensetalers gonna have this, industrial punk, dominatrix vibe with all leaders being females.

@9:50 I like to think about weird permutations that might exist in a sci-fi setting, but one that at least plays lip service to our laws of physics. I guess there could be a "high gravity moon" adjacent to a 1G planet, but my intuition is that it would require some really wacky things going on.

I made a Locus for my wyrmblade kill team by taking a house orloc model from necrominda, adding a gsc head, two knives, and a tail I made out of a Hellblaster power cable and another knife. My two sanctus assassins use aeldar ranger bodies.

Just kitbashed the Elucidian star strider box to make a Primus, Locus and Reductus Sabateur. Rogue trader with an extra whip arm for Primus. LectroMaester with a demo charge/detonator double arm Rejuvent Adept with hands chopped off and replaced with swords, atalan jackal head, and neophyte icon with on back for Locus

I’ve been using the solar auxilia 30k box set for my gsc and using spare bits from the combat control

If you want this Token Creatures use Ogor Gnoblars from Age of Sigmar, cut away what you don't need, the heads are separate so glue an accolyth head to the Body and maybe an Extra arm and some bits. Done. If you ask an Ogor Kingdom Player Nicely he may give you 4 for free (Ironguts, Gluttome and Leadbelchers have extra Gnoblars for Deco included)

If you can afford 2 combat patrols (before GW makes a worse one for us) You pretty much have everything you need to kitbash multiple characters, especially if you don't had the models to the trucks (like I did before watching this video)...

Cadian command squad? Upgrade pack+ medic makes a biophagus, Mastervox can become a Clamivus or Nexos, flagbearer with the cult icon becomes the Acolyte Iconward (remove the detail), guy with the sword can become a primus with an arm swap. 4 characters just like that

@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber yay. Funny enough, I'm kitbashing my first gsc combat patrol with some cadians for unique models + it can serve as another neophyte squad for 40k once I can get my hands on more plastic.

As a seperate comment: you do not have to buy full boxes for interesting/useful parts. There are bits sellers on the likes of 'bay, and you can also always ask around in your local gaming group.

Great video! You have such a special painting style, are the models pre-streaking grime or are you aiming for a 80s Eastern European bootleg look? This is absolutely a compliment btw❤

I just paint by numbers. One level of paint over white or black basecoat. I think the GSC were black undercoat and then I just slap on the paint over the top

You should "totally" not own a 3d printer and not look for stl files to aid you in said kitbashing.

Hello, I’m a big fan and I’m a huge fan of both genestealer cults and adepta sororitas and am just starting out both army’s. I have 2 mortifiers, an exorcist, and a box of sacrosants, and 15 genestealer. But I can only afford one combat patrol box. Which should I get?

the Genestealer Cult combat patrol box is probably the best one available. I don't think much of the sisters of battle combat patrol box. I recently used the Stargrave Mercenaries kit (which is great value for money) to make some more neophytes and special characters. Neophyte heads need a bit of work to fit, but otherwise recommended!
