I'm 33 now, I used to love skateboarding so much, I skated when I was 12 thru 16 but I sucked and I felt embarrassed all the time to the point the started to dislike it. I never landed a kickflip but after watching your videos I had the courage to grab an old powel Peralta, went to the skate park and I landed 2 pretty nice kickflips, I know that it may sound lame but today I closed a chapter that hunted me for years. If you have problems flicking the board all around, test to move your front foot a bit further out to the side, it should help, but if you want them higher move it a bit inward toward the bolts kinda. This can help!

Blackout same! Like the board flips under me but my front foot lands on the right of the board and my back foot is always behind the tail (I'm goofy)

If the board goes forward of you, you can try to put more weight on your front foot. If it goes behind you, you can try to put more weight on your back foot or you can try to center your weight. If the board stays under you, you are probably scared to land and you should overcome the fear. You can try to hold on to something like VLSkate said in the video. I think the best way to learn it is doing it from speed. But anyway I hope this was helpful.

When I try to kick flip my board ends up a meter away from me

Whenever i flip my board it goas flying in front of me

+WIZA327 yeah basically! it honestly sort of depends on what your skill level is but i feel like at first you just flick right off the side as fast as you can just to get the board around but as you get better you flick more and more up the nose in order to get it higher

VLSkate Nice, ok! long story that I'll skip, I can kickflip better switch than normal. So when I do it switch, I can flick it at that point np, but I've been trying to re-learn my tricks normal, so I'll try just flicking right off the side at first. Been trying to do it off the nose and my board always just sticks to my foot...

Give me your opinion, my dad skated back in the 80’s, he never landed a kick flip. Iv never skated but I want to get into it, I said to my dad “if I land a kick flip in 3 months you buy a jaguar”, my dad said “deal, but you won’t be able to do it”. What do you guys think, is it possible?

Sk8 Lyf have your foot higher up the nose, and also don’t turn your shoulders because that’s what makes the board shoot out in front of you.

first : sorry for my bad language. i use english weird. so i think i know what's ur prob with ur flip. maybe 2013-or 2012 i learn how to kickflip... and i have the same problem like u. the problem is i think u scared a bit. don't no why . maybe for " ohh sht when i land it the board goes to fast and i fall in. or the flip not spin enought and i landind on wrong place. sure that's scary a little bit, but try to not use ur mind, and just do it. after u land it. you realize" ohh that's not too hard and scary" and try to pull back your foot a good time. U can do this. keep it up!

Keep in mind that he is tall. Naturally, he is going to get higher of the ground because he can bring his legs up higher. he is also putting his foot about halfway on the board, which gives him more area to slide and level out. I recommend looking into and trying both of these. If neither work, check your tail, it could be worn out, thus reducing "pop". Just remember, skateboarding is just physics. you are simply using your feet to move a piece of wood, it's not magic. I hope this helps clear up any confusion you may or may not have had.
