@@Skiddyskates So basically the pre-flick is bending your front foot ankle and pushing your knee kind of out or up so the front foot can start to drag the board? That might be what is missing with mine, aside from how my timing seems off. I seem to flick late and not have time to retract my front foot to land or something. But ironically, with my varial kickflip attempts I didn't have that problem and my flick extended quite a bit off of the board. But I think it should be a continuous motion, because that's what made me land varial kickflips on grass too.

A solid Varial flip. For me, the skateboard spins perfectly, but I can't catch it because I always go wrong. It is the same for many in the skate park.

I’m going from an Ollie into a kickflip I really just couldn’t do a 180 or a pop shuvit kickflips just feel a lot easier lol

I just went from barely learning to shuvit when not in a crack to shuvit while rolling and learning to fs180, and I just landed my first kickflips

I landed my first kickflip at 28 years old, on June 10th 2019 ☺️☺️☺️

Cheesy Mac sounds like you have your shoulders turned. If you watch my varial flip video you will see that you have your shoulders turned and it helps the board spin. With a normal kickflip you want your shoulders to be square with the board. Hope this helps!

This tutorial is really good, I’ve been trying to learn kickflip for so long and haven’t understood how important these things you mention is.

Awesome comment. I'm glad these videos are helping you. I'm also 33 and kind of in the same boat with a lot of my peers. I made this channel mainly because skateboarding helped me through my life and I wanted to give back to the skate community.

Solid video. One of the best I have watch on kickflips and I have watched a lot. I learned heelflips first but haven't even started my kickflip battle but I know it will start soon. It is the natural next step.

Idk why but this guy really helps me break dwn these tricks seriously it’s him an two others I watch but he just breaks it dwn to a point where I can understand it, especially starting after like 10 years of non skating an I’m in my early 30s so I can kinda relearn cause a lot of tricks I completely forgot but I still push mongo lol thanks bro for a great channel!!

Do you have any tips like I cant focus on flicking the board and lifting up my knees like I either jump nice and high but I dont flick the board or I flick the board but I forget to lift up my knees when I jump

You can get it. Spend some time really focusing on what is going wrong and how you can fix it. Recording yourself and watching could help too.

Woah I didn’t know I had to twist my ankle inwards. That probably has to do with the fact that I only tried kickflip a few times. I’m learning the heelflip first :)

This might be happening because you are not allowing the board to pop before you flick. Make sure you are jumping too. Keep trying! thanks for watching.

+Adham Khaled that’s really high! I’ve seen people land kickflips that can’t ollie 1 board. Keep trying. I’m sure you will get it. Usually as soon as you realize what you are doing wrong you land it immediately. It will click if you keep trying.

I always have a problem with my flick sometimes the board doesn’t spin and all and goes out forward and looks like an Ollie I really need tips on spinning the board plz respond

Maybe try sitting down and doing some kickflips. That might help you figure out what you need to change without having to jump every time you try. Hope this helps!

Had this problem, when u ollie you use the side of ur foot to slide but when kickflipping use ur toe. Or when trying to flick you are kicking with your leg instead of just using your ankle to flip it.

Damnit you make it look so easy! Just started getting into it a few weeks ago and am definitely working on a kickflip now that I can ollie. Will keep referring to your video. Appreciate it👍
