Whether you're having trouble getting through chunky inconsistent snow or you're chattering out on steeper terrain, keeping your weight over the top of your board is going to help get down the hill quicker with fewer falls.
In this tutorial we will teach you the basics of centering your weight over your board and helping your muscles to remember this posture.

    I’ve been snowboarding for over 15 years now, and still find awesome hints on this channel. That gap between my heels and bindings u mentioned in the video, I had it like all these years, man! 🤣 Once I got rid of it, my park riding and confidence on jumps just rocketed!

    I've been riding for 15 yrs, and this video REALLY resonated. In heavy pitches, I still tend to *skid* turns and tail steer vs connecting turns on the edge. At issue, is I struggled with an easy way to think about how to engage the edges. Just fantastic video!!!

    I know this video is 3 years old but I just found it recently. Anyone pretty good at snowboarding that can't get too the next level? This might be the answer. I wasn't applying any of this knowledge to my riding. Last season I was the highlighted rider doing good enough but way wrong. One season applying this info and not only am I carving better, like sick better but my switch is finally getting comfortable (applying same techniques). Learning to butter, anything is possible now. My dudes. This is probably elementary to some but it's must know info. Nice job guys. Shred it!🤘🤙

    Still can't understand this hint 🤔 Why should you push your board forward when you trying ride on a back side of it?! Can anyone explain this to me? 🙄

  • @JRec-ql5fc

    @JRec-ql5fc

    @@XEHuC to help counterbalance and keep your center of gravity over the center of the board while on the heel edge I believe. If you just squat and rock back on your heels without some control you risk slipping out an edge before you can counter it. By adjusting highbacks forward and pushing shins forward when on heel edge you’re maintaining more control on that edge.

    Excellent video! Though I feel like I saw way too many people exaggerating the 'push your hip forward' cue and start to lock their hip in a posterior tilt position which is quite unstable. I think the hip should still be hinged a little bit for stability/impact absorption but 'an upright body' is definitely a good cue.

    Just sub’d. Love the channel. Been riding for many years self taught. I got a lesson which showed me I had been doing it wrong the whole time, not pushing hips forward. I have really struggled to maintain this technique when the shit hits the fan, quickly reverting to hips back. Any tips on brain reprogramming?
