    Loved the video. It was very informative. I need some suggestions from you. So i am planning to start breeding shrimp for profit. I have a 18*9*9 nano tank. Im new to shrimp keeping so i bought 20 pairs of caridina babulti for like 10usd which is 1000tk in my country. I bought them just to learn about shrimps. I also have a 40 gallon african cichlid tank which i am planning to convert into a shrimp tank and wanna start off with 15 pairs of fire reds. So should i use sand/gravel, garden soil or commercial soil. And about the water should i use ro water or tap water. And will i have success in such a big tank with only 15pairs? During summer in my country the temp raises upto 32°c/90°f what should be the max temperature? Confused...

    Hi! Thanks for your video - super helpful and supportive! I'm newer to nano shrimp.....and I am always worried they won't have enough to eat and they might starve to death. I have a 10 gallon with 2 sponge filters, sand substrate; rocks; and yarn (for babies); it has about 50 red cherry shrimp and 15 ramshorn snails. I know I must be over-feeding them b/c my shrimp tank smells gross; it looks tragic (the bottom is all murky and mushy); and it is often cloudy (I think from the biofilm powder). - Do you have any specific guidelines on how much and how often to feed them - ?

    ive read its best to feed them small portions daily, keeping in mind that young shrimp eat more. so once or twice daily, keeping the age of them in mind

    I've been really wanting to try to keep shrimp but always been very hesitant because my pH lands at about 6.5 to 6.8 I tried to bring it up with some neutral regulator at about 7 But usually it ends up dropping back down bc of driftwood ect. Do you think I shouldn't attempt keeping something like cherry shrimp given the pH being naturally on the low side?

    So I have a question. I have a small tank with 2 guppies. I want to add shrimp but I don't know how to cycle the tank for the shrimp without taking the fish out. It's only been set up for 3 weeks. I have a sponge filter coming to help with the bacteria. I don't know how long I would need to wait to add shrimp. TIA

  • @plzifan3773

    @plzifan3773

    Жыл бұрын

    let the guppies live in the tank with the filter for a long time, their waste will eventually cycle the tank, and after a few months there will be enough buildup of waste for the shrimps to eat

    @@plzifan3773 thank you! I apologize, I have another question. The sponge filter is way to big for the tank. There are smaller ones that don’t have the ceramic balls at the bottom? Will that be ok or does it need the ceramic balls?

  • @plzifan3773

    @plzifan3773

    Жыл бұрын

    @@sarahcaldwell3576 the ceramic balls are not necessary, and there are plenty of different sizes of sponge filters. The balls probably have many small pits for increasing surface area, but for only a few guppies and shrimp they shouldnt be necessary
