How To Kayak Duck Hunt

Order some apparel!- outdoorlimitss...
In todays video I covered how to hunt ducks with a kayak. I went over everything from picking a spot to throwing out decoys to shooting. kayak duck hunting is a blast and it can change the way that you hunt ducks. I prefer using a kayak to hunt ducks because I can get to spots that are difficult to walk to and also have a better hide. Kayaks also make it possible to hunt in deeper water.

I have drifted down creeks and river hunting squirrels from a kayak many times before but now I am thinking about duck hunting from one too! Thanks for the video and tips!

I am planning on doing the same, floating and hunting squirrels and ducks, from my canoe (Sportspal 10'6") watching these videos to learn/ prep/ get psyched about it :) Where are you located Ray? I'm in Nebraska but am looking at MO and KS options as well..

Bad advise to wear waders. If you're in an area where it's deeper than your waders and you fall in, they will fill and you will never get back in your kayak. Take a tip from the ocean fishing guys and get a good 3mm farmer john wetsuit and some neoprene boots.

The spot cut in the kayak paddle is so you can retrieve a snagged lure by hooking the line with the slot in the paddle, tracing the line down to the lure, then break it free. That's the idea anyway.

Love the kayak video! Last season was my first time trying to hunt in one. Could you give us a video on how you brush up your kayak? Or ways you would suggest. Thanks!

I know the video is a few years old but I will say this- secure the shotgun to the boat. Somehow. Always. Throw a big locking carabiner around the sling and the strut, tie it off, something. Even in a super stable kayak accidents can happen and if it does, you don't want your shotgun worth thousands sliding into the drink.

I usually toss my weights in the boat and drag the decoys behind for more freedom to move around and minimize water/ice in the yak. But to each his own. Just an idea 🤙🏽

you think I could get away with not purchasing a blind for my kayak I have an Old Town Vapor 12 in a nice camo pattern and the penny pincher in me doesn't want to buy or build a blind. wondering if you ever hunted out of yours without one?
