How To Jump | Hacking the Lizard | Virtual Coaching | Lee Likes Bikes/RideLogic Mountain Bike Skills

Here are some clips from an hour-long virtual coaching session with Chris. He is a great athlete, and we've been working on all the core skills (positions, braking, cornering, pumping, dropping, etc) via Zoom. Today is time for jumping. He has the skills, but we had to work through some common mental hurdles. Many of you will recognize your own limiting habits.
I hope you pick up something useful. There were many more nuggets, but they were clipped to keep this video short(ish).
Here's how virtual coaching works:
- You buy lessons on my website.
- We discuss goals via email.
- I give assignments to study and practice from my online MTB school. These are delivered via shared Google Doc.
- When you're ready, we schedule a Zoom call.
- We rock the Zoom call as if I’m there with you. The live feedback is massively helpful. I can see what you’re doing, ask questions and give you the exact cues you need, when you need them.
- I write up the notes and post video from the session in the Google Doc. Some of my clients’ docs are over 100 pages long. You basically end up with a how-to book (with videos) that’s written specifically for you.
- We repeat this cycle for as long as you want. People all over the world are seeing huge improvements!

"Oppose your glutes and lats, pull your elbows to your hips" is maybe the most clear description I've ever heard. Beautiful.

I will definitely try the visualization of a bar above the middle of the jump. Makes sense to me. Thanks Lee.

Love your teaching style and boundless enthusiasm. If you were coaching me, your stoke level would definitely keep me attacking that jump again and again until I nailed it.

"This is Lizard Brain Sh!t, So... So, We're Gonna Hack our way through that" - Lee McCormack One of the greatest lines ever, and I'm gonna use it for sooo many reasons and applications... and Lee, I'll give credit every time.

Question I have. I’ve had problems with lifting off the peddles when springing legs too hard so I end up using speed to make up for lower spring from legs but I know it’s not proper and it also hurts my height.

Hi! Focus on learning a clean row/anti-row on the pump track, then take that to jumps. Tons of details at www.llbmtb.com. Enjoy a free month with the code FREETRIAL.
