How to Jump a mountain bike beginner tutorial | Skills With Phil

Спорт

In this MTB tutorial, we learn how to jump a mountain bike. Jumping is a combination of two Mountain bike skills: pumping and bunny hops. Let's learn how to jump our mountain bikes!
Learning to jump a mountain bike is the best and most liberating feeling. Jumping your bike opens up a whole new world of opportunities on the trail and makes riding more fun. The day you learn to jump is the day you go from being a passenger on the bike to the conductor of the bike.

Hi Phil! I've been using your tutorials to learn and relearn skills I need to brush up on (and wasn't good at in the first place) . Ive been off a MTB for more than 15 years and its so good to be back..although I am now 51. yrs old . I'm being more careful by riding smarter.... but I feel with my brand new, and much better bike(, 29er kicks butt! )and being a rejuvenated rejuvenile rider... makes me feel young! I now access skill improvement videos,,,I have been able to ride sections I wasn't confident to ride before.....and also one thing I remember from Mo Awesome....head up... looking where you want to go. thanks for the help and keep em" coming Phil!!

This is literally the best jumping video on KZread. The key points are the arrows how you show to pull on the bars and to push the rear wheel. The American bunny hop analogy is awesome. And the step by step approach to getting more and more air is perfect, especially with the small starting ramp. I have been looking for a video to break it down like this for years. AWESOME!! Now I have a question for you - does this same technique apply to steep dirt jumps? Would you be able to do a video on jumping steeper jumps? The ones where you go higher than you do wide? Thanks for the great video!!
