    My own experience taught me that it's better to overshot a dangerous jump than to not clear it. So don't do that last touch on the brakes, if that brakefeeling is stronger, than save that jump until the next time!

    The only tip I can think of is, find a nice small jump you can practice on and do it many times until your ready for bigger ones. Then go bigger and bigger until you hit what I call the rampage wall, don't go past this or you'll end up in a and e.

    I always like Blake videos, even if I do not care about the content (I do ride a hardtail in this case), he is just so energetic in his presentation.

    I just started mountain biking. I have not owned a bike for 20 years. Most of these techniques comes naturally. I did my first bigger jumps today and this video just shows what I already did. I just need to be more precise. I did practice drops before jumping though. That way I got to learn the balance point and where I should have my body.

    @@gmbn I ride flats , although thinking of maybe going clips . I’m a bit of an old dog (52)and although I started out road biking with clips I just never transitioned. I live in Pemberton, north of Whistler and being back on the hard tail with the rougher technical terrain clips could make things easier. I have adapted well to being on flats though. Mulling it over though. Cheers

    When did definitions change? When I was a kid, a bunny hop involved landing on both wheels at the same time, and what was shown in the video at 1:21 was called a bronco, putting the front down first...and a J-hop was putting the rear wheel down first.

  • @blakemoresimon

    A bunny hop os where you hop both wheels at the same time like a bunny rabbit hops this the name. What he did was a barrel hop, like you were hopping over a rolling barrel. For some reason everyone gets it wrong. Mind too be honest even back in the 90s people got confused .

  • @j.l.5966

    @j.l.5966

    21 күн бұрын

    @@blakemoresimon actually the bunny hop originated as a BMX trick in the late 70s/early 80s, mechanics similar to an Ollie in skateboarding. Front goes up first, followed by rear, and then landing with both wheels at the same time. The 2 wheel at the same time hop was more common with road cyclists and then early clipped in mountain bikers and was known as the English hop.

    Jumping a full suspension bike can be harder, you have to get the timing bang on. It could also be how your rear suspension is set up. Have a play around and see what happens 🤙

    Teaching someone to jump a bike seems a lot like teaching someone to RIDE a bike. "Balance with this foot, keep your bars straight, balance on the bike, not too much forward... While you actually want to be comfortable, be loose, let the bike move under you, ... But not too lose, you should actually start on a track, or better yet go buy a specific bike just for learning..." An so forth and so on, ... And yet, more often than not, it'll all boil down to the person learning. Their ability and their willingness to sit the saddle, give it a go, do their best, get up and do it again .. Again and again.. Finally started figuring it out and progressing the day my friend said"hey, you brought a big set a b@!!s with you today! You went for the jumps!!" Listen, learn, but eventually, you should start to Do

    Dont u dare two-arm-shaming. If i like to have any amount of arms i can and I have. And U too can just imagine whatever number you feel/think you shouldve been borned with but somehow (usually magically) didnt happen. or if you feel like changing due to legal or any made up reason(s). Odd number, even numbers, whatever making you feel The closest to god. Then you can also make your local bike park get you special toilet (and sympathi)..and u can go to media blaming manufacturers not giving u special built bikes for free, if not working - drag the ignorant racists to court, And get justice! But its kind of relative to income. But if you have loaded parents or a mason youll get all The justice youd ever think ull need. go to low production manufacturers first, so they will either go bankrupt or give u ur bike. Dont brother with big Corp. Either ure already majority shareholder or simply dont brother(...cus arm and money issues) . Also remember to vote, cus ull make a real change and feel better about ur failed arm operations and life-long depts. System is there for you..... But srsly if u just going through with surgery and adding some arms because u wasnt invited to The cool ppl with many arms in kindergarden.... Just wait atleast until u get hair under The once u have.. Hopefully u have parents to tell u this, but if not - uve now read it on The internet atleast once. Try give it an uninterrupted thought
