New C4 owner here 🙋🏻♂️, thank you sooo much for the informative video 👍🏻
This is the one thing I do not like about my C4s (I've got two of them). Jacking without damaging is not easy. I made an adapter block that makes jacking much easier. If you like, I will make a video and send it to you.

Good job Chris. Your always so eloquent in your VLOG deliveries. A God given talent. Steve
I love that you’re doing C4 videos now too Chris. While I love my C5, the C4 was my first love, and I will likely be getting one again once I find the right one one. Keep up the good work my friend.
Yes, that was a correct bolt on the diff - I just removed the D44 (you have a D36 since yours is an automatic) from mine yesterday. Dropping it to reseal it will be a fair job - you pretty much have to drop the whole rear suspension and "while you're in there......" will become quite a project. When you get there remember that C4 rear suspension operates in a bind. If you replace the rubber bushings with poly bushings, they will oval out at the bolt holes from the bending action. The only right way to fix it is to replace it all with heim joints.
Great undercar footage and best C4 jacking instruct on YT. Thanx for the content, as I am currently sailing that ship. Cheers !
Just bought my first C4 and getting ready to jack it up. You’re video will be very helpful. Thank you

Fantastic, congrats!
You sure brought back memories of my '95 C4 I had for 9 months that needed lots. The guy that had owned it for 10 years before me didn't even know it had a spare tire. And no idea what the word maintenance met. ha ha ha. But, once I sat in a C5, the C4 had to go.

I'd never switch to a C5. I love every rattle, shake and bump you can fell in the C4! But good for you that you got a Vette you really enjoy. They're amazing cars 😀
Good anatomy lesson. I have not been under my '87 yet, need jack stands or quick jacks. Thanks for showing me where to place them.
look at you! what no others could do you did 😂👍 I came here for a refresher and I thank you
Thank goodness for the thumbnail Chris. Here in Chicago there is a real problem with car jacking😄
As a C5 owner and after watching this video, I have even more respect for the C5 design team.
I really like this car. Now that the weather is nice how about a drive video of with the C5? How about Tortilla flats? That is a great drive and people may have not seen this place before.
I was hoping this was a 1" lift kit installation video 😅
Your video has brought back a lot of memories. I still have the 86 Z51, but we converted it to track use in 2017. I forgot what the car looked like underneath in stock form. I am starting to realize how much I must have spent to get to where it is at, lol.
Some C3 tech again following in the C4: rear spare and rear seat compartments.
I use a floor jack each time I need to lift my c-4 vette; and yes I'm very aware of the brake/fuel lines. Use your head and you will have no problems.
Great video and information clearly showing what you are looking at. Keep it up. Always looking for information to help with my 85 Z51 purchased new back in the day. 😂 Thanks.
Your videos are perfect. Professional and to the point.
This was interesting Chris. The C3's came with scissor jacks which were located in the storage tub behind the passenger seat. I don't know about the C4's. But the C3's had a lot of exposed frame to use a floor jack.
I'm going to get one of them so I can get under my 89 Fe7 Z51. I'm watching all of your videos. thanks for putting them up.
Thanks for doing that. I almost bought the quick lift in Carlisle in 2019. The guy didn’t know if it would work on a C4.
Thanks for sharing.
Great vid. Thanks.
I use a floor jack on my C4, if I jack the front I put it under the large piece that the A arms are attached too. I have a piece that I made that I set on the floor jack and it goes in-between the exhaust and jacks up the rear of the differential. Works really good.
Excellent as always! I just received my quickjack and hockey pucks. I'll be putting the '90 in the air next week .

Brother..GREAT VIDEO! Very few out there as detailed and informative. @mycorvettelife QUESTION: WHAT IS THE BOXY LOOKING THING ALONG THE OEM JACK POINT ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE?? Sounds hollow to a knock..its just between exhaust and plastic rail alongside door that says 'jack location` thanks in advance for any help or insight
Chris you have a z-51 or a z52 optioned corvette` That being said they came with oil cooler, bigger radiator, extra pusher fan and bilstein shocks. The z51 had stiffer springs and the z-52 had stock springs for a little softer ride. Check your center console lid underneath and it will provide the code you have. This was an option and was not standard for these c-4's. these (especially the z-52 option) were not a widely bought option and are more rare than just a base c-4. I recently bought a 1987 and it has the z-52 option. My 1988 is just a base. And the 1987 I bought is the first one I have ever seen that came with fabric seats versus leather. It is factory as it is coded for this. Great information Chris. Keep it going!
Always open all doors and hatches on c4s before lifting. Body twist is more than in the c5 and you can crack fiberglass if you dont. Great safety video! Keep up the great content.

This is true if lifting one corner. if lifting the entire car evenly via a 4 post lift or QuickJacks there should be no flex.
Clips are for a Bra I believe as I did install one 29 years ago. Getting ready to raise mine on the Quickjacks and great timing. An oil leak arose Sunday and I hope from something assessable... Having a ragtop I have pesky crossmembers and watch that diff leak, mine went all of a sudden.... Currently enjoying a 1987 and 2017.
Very useful. I have a zr1. If I get the front of the car on low ramps, surely I can centrally jack the front on that front cross member? Thanks
Cheers from New Zealand Chris
Wow!! I haven't seen any c4 with these razor blade wheels man. They look awesome. I was in the market for replacement wheels, ended up with the 5 spoke c5 wheel, but only heard of these on an online wheel guide. Thats awesome man
I have a 96 Corvette convertible that I made and three-quarter thick by inch and a half wide by 12 inches long with an 1/8 inch deep groove offset to one side. I placed that aluminum block in the center of the vehicle on the pinch weld between the two jacking points making sure to miss any plumbing underneath. Then I can jack up the whole one side of the car with my floor jack and put jackstands underneath it then go to the opposite side and do the same thing it has been working for me for 15 years and I have had no problems. With the convertible I make sure to have the top lock down and the doors closed with the windows up to prevent any twisting of the body.
love it
The factory jack is located in the spare time compartment
Many thanks for these informations, i own a convertible C4 with X crossmember underneath. Best regards from France 🇨🇵
@mycorvettelife QUESTION: ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS THE BOXY LOOKING THING ALONG THE OEM JACK POINT ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE?? Sounds hollow to a knock..its just between exhaust and plastic rail alongside door that says 'jack location` thanks in advance for any help or insight
It looks like someone has messed up your rear metal floorpans. Those are really banged up. I have to jack my up via the factory jacking locations because I need to use the inside pinch welds for my jack stands.
May want to watch that open hood as you're raising it in a garage...lol
I am also new to C4 owners group. Good video.
I had a 93 convertible and the jack was behind the drivers seat, mounted on the floor. My 94 coupe has it in the compartment behind the passenger seat. And I've heard that some are on top of the spare tire. Bottom line GM in their capacity to not make up their mind on anything with the C4 it changes year to year. That said. I like your jack. Is it electronic or air? And where can I purchase one?
Very good and informative video. Has anyone ever put on a set of side pipes on a c4 Corvette? I'm looking for information about where the best places to connect them before I even take it to a garage to have it done. Thank you in advance

Hello, Did you find any info? Thx
Chris, how's the fuel lines above the tank and vent hose looking? Mine was good for a bit, as summer came the tank pressure blew out the rubber behind the plate, above the tank. Behind the passenger wheel, the line exposes with a 90 bend check this area for rust, it will fail at this location as well and leak fuel.

I will check. Thanks
at 8:06 what if you customized a galvanized wire screen and spray treated it before installing?
Looking good underneath, nothing seriously wrong at first sight.
Also which model quick jack do you have/recommend for C4 vette?
On my 91 C4 Corvette I have L98 and on the driver side there is a wire that keeps hitting my exhaust and idea what it is or goes to?
I've owned three C4s, and small floor jacks on each side will do the trick. Once the car is elevated a bit, a large floor jack can safely be placed underneath the front crossmember.
Chris check your quickjack you motor sound like it is low on fluid or you didn’t open the breather valve.
This is great. Random question, what size tires and rims are on the C4? Look pretty wide. Thanks in advance!
Hey Chris, Just popped up today on KZread. J&J Auto Wrecking. Red 88 Corvette wrecked. Might be interesting to watch.
Its common for oil to end up on the front cross member, I had a timing cover leak in my 95 and that's where the oil drips down too.
Thanks for pointing out the best floor jacking positions. I'll be using those the next time I lift.
Holy crap, the americans were able to do simple things even more complicated than the frenchmen! incredible
Nice detailed information on lifting points , not like the guy with the yellow C4 who claims he knows more than the pros do on lifting one . It's obvious you value safety . Nice job . Can you give some details on the quickjack please . Would love to have one .

You said not to use the factory jacking point that’s indicated on the side rail, with a floor jack! Is it ok to floor jack if it has a puck on the lifting point?
Good Job Chris, where can I buy the two electric jack? thank you
What is that panel in between the transmission panel and the oil pane of the engine?

I want that lift !!
Every post i see in my facebook group of a c4 being jacked up they used those car ramps and some 2x4s to help get the car on them.
I have the '86 convertible and read somewhere not to remove the spare tire. It's part of the protection if rear-ended. Yeah, I know!
What model of Quick Jacks are you using?
Cut a piece 2x4 the length of the front cross member to use on your floor jack from the front . I bought a new C4 6sp Zo7 in 94, took it to UK drove all over Europe, sold it 2003 and got most of my money back, looking for a 96 a the moment.
