Johannes is showing me how and what to think about to avoid throwing nose up in disc golf. Something that otherwise both messes up your line and distance!

    I'm a beginner and "nose-up"-thrower. I tried these tips today. I practice at a 70m grass area with a 3m fence behind it. Today I got my River to fly, not only above the fence, but over the road and over the fence at the other side of the road. It must had been 100m with ease. Twice in two throws... Probably 30m further than my longest throw ever. Thanks boys! ❤️

    Jonathan pronates into his release so he will never throw nose down until he supinates :) hopefully he reads this because I think it will be the only thing that will save his nose angle. -Mikey

    @@Spott123 Overthrow is saying the outside edge of the disc drops into his release, and they're suggesting rotating the forearm towards the palm up direction, or more of a "turn the key" motion which has been starting to gain traction the last year or two among some who "pour the tee" / "pour the coffee" does not resonate well for.

    Can Dr. Johannennes please explain how throwing speed effects turn and fade on different types of discs? Like if the wonderfull fuse is thrown like speed 9, will that effect the -1 turn and make it -3 ? And is it possible to know when you're not throwing fast enough so that example Bolt get it's correct fighting path? That would be an interesting video 🙌🙌

    I have been playing for about a year, and have heard a lot about the importance of not throwing nose up. But, I have never really understood what it means until watching this video and seeing Johannes show the "pour the tea cup" movement with the wrist. I tried it out earlier today, and after just a few tries I added 15 meters to my Havoc, and you can really see how the disc pierces through the sky compared to when throwing nose up. Amazing video, thanks guys!

    Another banger of a disc golf guide from my favorite discgolfers =) Also a good tip that helped me get rid of the nose up angle was to pull my thumb a little in (Squeezing the disc with more of the tip of the thumb)

  • @kieronmckay4276

    @kieronmckay4276

    Yeah I've noticed thumb placement alone can change the disc angle, like grab a disc and move your thumb around...the more foreward it is, the more the nose goes up, the more back and kind of "kyle klein" your thumb is closer to the center of your palm, the more the nose drops.

    Elbow is key. The way I explain to beginners is to throw with your elbow and let the disc follow. Imagine really driving your elbow around your body on a flat plane. Then you can use that same throwing motion to achieve different shot shapes by adjusting the elbow height or body tilt.

    Johannes looks like he could also get more torque and arm speed if he kept his arm closer to his hip during the latter half of his throw. Looks like his arm is getting too high, flailing a bit and acting like a kite slowing his rotation in the slow mo...Jonathan actually does this really well for as young as he is to the game, good job!

    “Nose down” is more in relation to your launch angle. You can throw nose down on a positive launch angle. And you can throw nose down on a negative launch angle (think air bounce)

    I know the reason why distance is in feet. The US-audience is big. But since this is a Swedish and European production, why not just keep it in meters and let them do the conversion for once. SI-units are superior, always 💪
