How to INSTANTLY Add Club Head Speed to your Golf Swing

Спорт

In order to accelerate, you need to be able to stop. If you put Ford Fiesta brakes on a Ferrari, you'd have all this acceleration and speed you wouldn't be able to use (without crashing anyway)! So here's a couple drills that help us to tap into this deceleration in the golf swing and allow for us to not only gain distance instantly but also gain control over our swing, ZEN Golf Mechanics style.

Yep this one explains best how to create effortless lag using weight transference. My biggest issue is keeping hands, wrists, arms and shoulders relaxed enough to let them freewheel through to a nice balanced finish. May way steel Jack Nicklaus waggle and swing trigger, he seems a decent player to model

Fantastic demonstration of how the body moves naturally in a golf swing. No need to try to hit positions in the swing, it happens automatically when you let your body do want it is built to do. As always, love your teaching. You are the true guru of golf instruction. Other instructors should pay you to be taught this way of teaching golfers.

I amazed how similar the examples of the " lack of power " swing without deceleration and the " pressure shifted " swing with deceleration look to the observer .......I am trying hard and have watched this video multiple times to grasp that " pressure shifted " deceleration feel, trying to add power and distance..... ( currently my best 7i carries an average of 120yards , with a club head speed only in the mid 70's ) .....I have been practicing indoors daily, trying to improve during the winter months by swinging a short club and feeling that pressure shift ......thanks much Marcus .......

Great video as usual, right arm only swings helped me get down to 3 hcp,but not quite in the way you describe.Whilst feeling the wrists and clubhead release is a valuable skill to learn, but in IMHO its not what the great ball strikers do, well at least not since the invention of steel shafts! As Hogan said in his book,if you hear someone talking about wrist action you know they're amateurs.Great ball strikers use all the great techniques and drills you describe in your great videos to load, maintain, substain and release the shaft through the ball giving great speed and stability at impact.

I was surprised to see how early pros begin to shift their pressure back towards target in the swing, with some doing so when the club is barely past parallel on the backswing. I think for most amateur golfers it so counter intuitive especially as the club hasn't reached the top of the swing, but as demonstrated here it's an important reason why pros hit the ball as far as they do. Also as also you point out, that shift in pressure buys you time at the top of the swing. It's a lovely feeling 👌
