Any technique to place shower door back into hinge? At 2:01 in video it looks like a simple push. My showerdoir came out at hinge but it seems impossible to push it back to hinge. Do i have to replace the rubber seal at hinge?

There shouldn’t be any rubber on the hinge. The only rubber part is the gasket around the glass, if the glass is pulling out of the frame it’s very difficult to put it back in, you will have to take the door out and use block and mallet to pound frame back on the glass. 2:01 door rail slides over wall rail.

Thank you for posting this. I have a question. When you open the door all the way, what does it hit? Do you use a special door stop or door bumper for a glass door?

I think the door I installed in this video opened pretty far before hitting anything. You don’t have to put any kind of door stop unless the door actually hits something, but if it does then you can get a small clear round stick on bumper and stick it on the surface that door comes in contact.

@@roadglassandmore9064 Thanks. It just looks as if it would hit those hinges on the left, where the door was removed to the bedroom. And if they weren't there, it looks as if it would hit that short piece of wall. I am considering an installation in a house with kids. We might opt for a shower curtain until they are old enough to not swing doors open and hit the wall with them.

hello friend, these anchors you use are into a traditional unmodified cement mortar? im trying to clarify i have kerdi, there is nothing behind the kedri, where the hinge needs to go, am i correct to assume using anchor through tile and kerdi alone will not hold the load capacity? if i destroy the waterproof installation and put wood behind the kerdi would the waterproof membrane not be compromised where the fasteners hold up the frame? any wisdom or guidance is greatly appreciated. as a professional i can suck giving out free advice, if you could help me out i can get you back with an electrical question, industrial comm or residential.

Those are regular plastic anchors, they should be able to hold the load, I use similar plastic anchors for frameless shower installation and I don’t always hit the wood behind the tile! When you run the screw the anchor expands inside the surface :mortar, drywall, tile . You drill through water barrier, frame of the shower completely covers the holes and gets sealed to tile so water shouldn’t be getting inside, you can also put a little bit of silicone over the anchor. Technically Kerdi is over the drywall, plus setting mortar and the tile, so you have enough structural area for the anchors.

How do you level the frame if the sides aren’t level???

You can add a small block (piece of rubber or aluminum) on top of wall jam , inside the header .
