Very helpful video! I have to attach some side moldings on my Jetta Sportwagen and when I took it to a 5* Yelp rated shop, the owner looked lost and tried to line sight it with tape. It looked crooked and I told him that. He couldn't see what I was talking about. So I took the car home and decided that I'm going to do this myself with your video. I save $75 and have the care that a volume business won't have with my car!

Best video I have seen on KZread for installing side molding. Thanks. Our brand new 2017 Toyota Camry XSE just got dinged on the molding in a parking lot. Some people are so inconsiderate it amazes me. Anyways, I am looking into replacing the molding as otherwise the car finish is still perfect. It's only the molding on the driver's door. Do you have any recommendations for removing the existing molding? I have read to use a heat gun but to be careful keeping the heat in one spot for long. I don't know if a hair dryer will be hot enough. Then use adhesive remover, but not sure what kind will work best. Goof Off, Goo Gone? Then clean the area as you showed in your video. Do you have any other tips since I will be removing the original molding first?

Hello and thanks for this video I have the same car actually it's my girlfriend's but I'm going to do this today for her I just picked up the side mowings from Lexus dealership. 😁, My question is when you prepped it I know it says 3M paint prep but you used alcohol what percentage alcohol did you use cuz I don't want to damage to clear or is that possible did you use 50% 70% or 91% ? Nice video Chris. Well done. I would like to suggest one thing. If you peel the backing of the sticker incrementally as you stick..say 3-4 inches at a time from the back, you can have a stress free install without worrying about the side molding getting stuck on the other side and preventing a tight sticking. It is also worth looking at the instructions for installing Acura MDX side molding. They provide simple cards with rest flaps and installation was a breeze.

What brand body side molding is it?

Pretty cool Knowing how it goes on, just got one with them on and want them off any ideas to remove it safely and with ease?

Only saw your post today. It's late since your post was from a year ago... but I would suggest a combination of low heat with thin nylon fishing line to roll/slice between the molding and the door, once molding is removed you will need to use adhesive remover to remove any remaining residue. Good luck!

How do u re attach the chrome decorative molding on the bottom of the door ? Just below the one ur attaching .
