How to install serpentine belt onto 2014+ Cherokee trailhawk 3.2l tips and tricks

Ойын-сауық

Please like and subscribe! 2014 and 2016 jeep cherokee trail hawk overview 3.2l engine. Was a pain in the ass compared to any other car/suv/truck I’ve ever done. Hopefully I saved someone some time because their isn’t much info on these and changed an idler pulley that the bearing was wobbling. If you have any questions let me know. Use OAT (dex-cool(gm version is easier to find)) or mopar item number specific)) COOLANT, NOT HOAT! Cherokee kj

I’m about to do mine belt and pulleys this weekend. We’re you able to reuse the clic R hose clamps? How much coolant did you have to replace? And have you had any problems with the coolant system after just re-burping it? Any tips? I’d appreciate it. I’ve been dreading this since I’ve heard it was a pain in the ass… Thanks!!

Yes I re used my click r clamps. No issues with coolant, I used gm dex cool coolant exact same as the mopar stuff just different color. I did check the coolant over then next couple weeks. Seemed to get lowere first couple times. Not sure on the exact amount I just filled till it was full after I drained the system. I don't think was more than 2-3 gallons. Just used pre mixed

Good video, I suspected had to do that belt from the wheel well. Those hoses though, I would have been even madder finding that when I got in there. Damn engineers loose sleep at night trying to figure out how to screw with the guy working on these things.

Oh you know it. Yeah I was pretty frustrated having to wait a week for parts just to change the belt

@@myronhorvathsk didn’t have the type r clamp remover. Once I got that and the belt off one of my pulleys has a bad bearing and had to replace that as well.

@@JeremyMichaelJordanDIY gotcha! Makes sense then. I’ll probably replace those clamps with gear clamps. And of course I’ll be checking those idlers and tensioner when I’m there because I won’t want to go through this shit show anytime soon. Lol

can you reuse those hose clamps after? or do you have to get new hose clamps for the coolant hoses?

Haven’t got around to that one yet but this is a service manual for it. Kinda confusing because it references like 3 different motor types but hope that helps. cardiagn.com/2014-2019-jeep-cherokee-kl-trailhawk-service-manual-wiring-diagrams/

Sucked honestly getting in the correct position to get the special pliers in the right position. It wasn’t hard just irritating because it took a little finesse
