Just installed it in a 2018 Mercedes GLC and it works like a charm. The install video was very good. At first I had no audio but the problem was that I didn't move the optical cable from the original plug to the new plug in the radio unit.

@@E.T1941 you have to disconnect the optical cable from the original plug which used to be in the radio and move them into the new plug which now goes into the radio. You just have to pull hard on them to get them out.

I wanted to see the screen install and it up and working

Tip. Mine does occasionally either don’t start at all (black screen) or is reacting very slowly on inputs. You can reboot the unit easily by pressing the BACK button for 10 seconds. Fixed the issue every time.

Installed it today and it works perfect unless for the mic. It seems to be bad quality in calls, sound has echo... I guess I have to look in the audio setup, cause the OEM mic was working always perfect till now

And, the android box has a 8-switch module... How should they be? All of them activated? For glc 2018

Will this work with 2019 GLC 63? Any special cables required? You don’t show in video but does this have to be connected to USB port in between seats and another road top USB port put along side it ? Other similar products run cables to the USB port. Thank you

Built-in microphone works but you need to disconnect your phone from your MB-Bluetooth and leave only carplay connected.

Where is the link to update firmware? I bought this and the firmware is out of date (does not look like the pictures in your AliExpress)

@@betterthenyou99 don't order it, they never replied. If you use it with the cable it's not too bad but with Wireless it is dropping, if you stop the engine and get back with your shopping for example, you have to force reboot the unit because it doesn't properly disconnect from the phone but you cannot relaunch Android Auto because it doesn't appear on the screen. And every time you enter the car you have to press and hold a button to bring it up, it doesn't remember that you launched it last time, so every time you enter the car you have to do this process of bringing it up on the screen by pressing and holding a button, then scrolling to the Android Auto option, then plugging the cable, and then you can use it. It's definitely not plug and play. For wireless function you have to bring it up by pressing and holding the button and then waiting until it shows an android auto icon which can take a minute or two, then you press down on the controller to enter the wireless mode and then it connects. The interface also has very ugly icons. My main issue is that it doesn't remember it was last selected and remains on the screen after I shut down the engine and lock the car. Have to bring it up every time I want to use it which is annoying. And finally there is a hum/high pitched noise on the speakers once you use this because the usb to aux adapter is introducing this noise. If your car has aux built in I don't know if it will do it.

@@pw0000 Hi Pete. What phone are you using with this unit? Also, i'm trying to figure out if I can use Google maps wirelessly from my Samsung Galaxy S9. The local shops say its impossible, only Apple CarPlay is wireless. RoadTop says on Aliexpress its possible . However they responding to Tsvetoslav above that he needs a USB cable.and you saying its possible but not that great. I have a wireless charger in my car and i don't want to plug the phone in every time i'm using this thing which is mainly for navigation only. Let me know what you think. Thanks

​@@georgeisdaman Pixel 3XL. If you use their "AutoLink" function you can mirror the screen of your phone exactly as shown, you have to download an app for that. When you open the app it doesn't do anything, but when you plug the phone it mirrors. The other way is Android Auto, you use Google Maps from Android Auto and control using the car's controls. This thing is Wireless as well (for Android Auto, I didn't test Apple) but it's very fiddly to setup and not very reliable for me. I always use the cable. I also have a wireless charger (SIGHILL dock), trust me it's worthless without the cable as the rate of power consumption is higher than the charging rate so at best it will remain the same charge, at worst despite the charging it will still drain your battery and overheat your phone in the process. Just use the cable.

@@georgeisdaman I actually have wireless Android Auto working flawlessly with my Galaxy S20+. I've used on several hour+ drives with no drops, lag, etc. However, I have the same problem as Pete with the unit not fully shutting off when the car is off and also if you disconnect it doesn't reconnect correctly. I contacted RoadTop support on AliExpress and they provided me with a firmware update. I'm going to try it and will report back.

Did you get an answer? The aftermarket slot doesn't hold the cable in, it just falls out unlike the original slot for them

How aftermarket front camera is activated? Is it automatically activated when gear is changed from "P" to "D"?

@@kolef 1.It depends your phone was connect to Android screen or your original car screen; 2. Yes if you turn off your car, it will take about 1-3 minutes to turn off the android screen; 3. The screen has remember function, when you turn on your car, the Bluetooth will connect to the last device automatically; 4. Sometimes really has some sound or connection issue, but it depends your experience, if you are familiar with your car, normally it will don't have any problem.

the resolution depend on your W205 display. You can add the reverse camera. You need to use our USB cables for the Android Auto or CarPlay function. The CarPlay function support both wireless and wired connection.

Check if you have a optical audio cables in your head unit. That was the issue I had but to be fair it was mentioned in the instruction manual. The optical cables have to be moved to the plug which goes into the radio.

Can you please tell me what happened? I bought this and had all sorts of issues, seller had to refund me for some, this thing doesn't switch off completely so it drains my car's battery if I don't run it for a few days, I had several instances of my phone showing a prompt from the car asking to connect to bluetooth (from this box), so the box is constantly on! If there is an update I need to apply to see if it stops this.

Where can I download the latest firmware for this? I asked 3 months ago and still no response. Still have issues with this, it never turns off, drains the battery of my C-Class W205, if I leave the car at 5PM and lock the doors, go inside, 10PM I can still see my phone connected to the car via bluetooth. Your device is faulty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please give me a new firmware to update and fix these issues.
