Great tutorial. Am about to install on my Tacoma. What are those boxes in the bed?

When I installed the cover I had to use a tap to clean out the threads. When the parts were coated the treads were filled in and the bolts would not start. I suggest that you start all of the bolts before you try to assemble the cover making sure that they will start easily.

It leaks so much you may as well just have it open honestly. Water resistance 0/10

Are the aluminium slats identical in appearance to the electric retractable cover or slightly different, if so how? Thanks in advance

I wanna buy this for my truck but I have a plastic bed liner in it. A lot of these covers require you to cut your bed liner. Does this one require you to cut your plastic bed liner as well or can you put it on the bed of the truck no problem? (2019 Ford Ranger XLT 5'1 bed)

Why don't they add this T-Rail to the revolver cover. This system is bulky making my 5 1/2 bed to a 4 1/2 ft bed and is a PAIN to install. BAK Revolver with a T-Rail would allow all the benefit of a hard cover, ease of install/removal AND I get my full 5 1/2 ft bed AND I can utilize the Yakima OverHaul system. Can we get a push for this????

Can this hold the OVS freedon Rack?

I purchased the retrax EQ so I can use the app and truck key fob to operate the bed cover. One thing they don’t tell you is app will not work if your truck has automatic side steps, doesn’t matter if they are factory installed or aftermarket. If Retrax would have advertised the bed cover this way I would not have purchased this bed cover. I would have went with the cheaper version. Called retrax and waiting to hear back from them. Will update once issue has been resolved.

Do the required tools come with the kit or not?

There are two tiny drain holes where the bed meets the cab. You’d have to either drill them out bigger to allow the drain tubes to pass through or drill out drain holes in another location of your choosing,

I received 2 of the Large box and no rails so I have a big bunch of nothing. No side rails.

The instruction book is terrible. Thanks for videos

Would be amazing for a long bed. Not practical for shotbeds back end takes too much room

will it install on a M416 military trailer? no tailgate bed opening is 49” x 72”

Mine had coarse thread screws for the side. The allen screws are fine thread. Refer to the instructions for which go where. Don't rely on the video.

If I could go back in time I would invest the few hundred extra for the aluminum. A hail stone smashed through mine even though the hail wasn't large enough to dent my F150.

@@Acreyman which one did you get? even the poly carb ones are supposed to be reinforced. Did Retrax do anything about it? I litterally just got the RetraxOne XR.

I have tiedown bars on my 17 Ram will I need to remove them to install my Retrax cover ?

No I don't have the rambox ,I installed the tiedown bars

having a hard time closing it.

Can somebody tell if the cover can be adjusted to a smaller bed truck ?

No they do not you can either get it for a 5' or 6' bed.

I just watched the video a 2nd time after reading your comment and never heard/saw anything about draining and additionally the adjustments were given a "once over", which to me qualifies as not explained very well. I (and perhaps others too) would greatly appreciate it if you could give a timestamp reference to those parts of the video.

Didn’t even demo it after the assembly...

This cover is awesome but this video is garbage. Never shows you how to adjust, never mentions the leveling aspect of the clamps, never addresses the drain plugs, and then advises that "it'll just get better over time". What?!?

You didn't even show it function and you sounded uncertain with the over time it will break in comment.

Just got mine, the box hardware is missing. This is actually the second unit shipped to me, the first one you shipped was a damaged used one. I know this due to the damage and now also how the second one came in. The second one had cardboard stiffeners in the top corners along with the center cardboard protector. This is sad how such a fine looking cover can be delivered used first; then missing parts too. In addition, the canister box has a type of clear protective film, assuming its the same as automotive clear film. Highly disappointed in this product, I would not recommend this to anyone.

I have to get in my bed to close it and it's super hard and it's been 2 years..stay away

Too bulky , and complicated . Not to mention more costly.
