Went through a bunch of sites and videos before I found this. Finally solved my problem, thank you so much. Had to use the plier method to get the hub endcaps off.

Hi, thanks for doing these videos, really does help the home mechanic! I think it's worth sharing, with the 365-D rear hub end cap removal is slightly different - the non drive side is a pull off as in these vids (mine were so stuck on, I ended up using a steerer tube saw guide in a vice to hold the end cap then pulling upwards with the wheel, but you can get the correct axle vice tool if you're not a cheapskate). And the drive side was a case of using an Allen key in the QR hole and then on the non-drive side the sub axle will now be exposed with a slot in, place the edge of a cone spanner in that slot to hold it and unscrew the drive side with the allen key. Hope this helps someone as I damaged my original ones with failed attempts before succeeding with the above technique, I've had to purchase some new ones 😭

Maybe not the brightest question, but here goes… so the end caps for QR are 7mm shorter in total and converted to 135mm QR or are the end caps the same width and just converted to 142mm QR? Any implications for the cassette and gearing + disc brake and brake caliper if I put it on a 135mm frame?

Using the threaded end of thru axle to remove end caps has to be the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Easy way to damage the caps and the thru axle.

Hi Tyler! Thanks for the comment and I hope all is well. Having done this for many years, we can confirm it causes no damage to the axle or adapter. It takes very little force to remove :)

@@ScribeCycling yeah maybe when it's a brand new bike but in the real world them thing get stuck beyond belief and you would shear the threads way before you get a bearing out. Staged video and real life are two different things. Anyone with a brain knows you don't use any threads to pry, push, pull,or make leverage.
