Not sure why they're just now getting strip lights with a remote... they've been around for quite awhile. But there's IP65 waterproof lights that have pre-soldered ends with corresponding pin connectors. You can also buy no solder connectors that just snaps on to the end of the strip. I just picked up a RGB+WW, IP65 with a wifi controller that you can control from remote control or an app on your cell phone, or voice operates via Alexa & Google. I picked up a metal strip light track with a translucent cover to mute the lighting. I'm hoping to install in in my niche within the coming 2 weeks. Hopefully, I do a good job that I won't mind sharing photos of.

I ended up quitting doing these because the lights would burn out. However if there’s access from the back I modify the top and use glass or tile with inserts. Then if lights go out. They only need to get access panel open and swap lights out. It’s pretty much the same way of putting a tv in the shower wall with a glass cover. To me it’s a waste but if you wanna pay me I’ll put it in.

Yeah I feel you on that, my biggest fear is that the light fails and is difficult to get out and that's why I try to make it as easy as possible but an access panel would be a lot better

@@StarrTile I had it happen a year ago. Job done. 1 month later lights died. Mfg gave them lights under warranty but not that easy to replace. So I used to have them buy lights. Sign a lot of my paperwork and no warranty. But it happened again to someone else. So I’ll only do it if I can put a access in a closet or somewhere. Customers keep coming up with wild ideas. A month ago. His and her shower. 2 -TV’s. 2 bench’s. Different floor heat for either sides. Lights. Mr Steam. When you have money I guess. Lol Although my favorite was a fish tank. Yes a fish tank. Tank was made by a company. Very interesting. But you gained access from a closet to feed etc. But I’m shower you’d see the front 5ft wide by 19 tall. Crazy people

I have a similar set up going on 5 years now (2017) in a kitchen bar since the bar cabinets are already recessed and the island counter could really use some extra light. at some point the "lights died"..NAH. at least for me it was the wall wart that died. The lights and driver are fine. I found a bigger beefier wall wart that took the same plug with a little more oomph and have had no issues since. My theory is its like a bigger amperage alternator for a car stereo amp. The bigger amps are not actually utilized by the light strip driver. But its engineered to run at a higher ceiling, so youre pushing like 50% max capacity 24/7 vs. engineered right at the ceiling of what the wall wort can put out for cost overhead in production. At least in theory...Ok i just looked at it and the RGB driver is 12v input and 6 amp max output. The wall wort is 1200MA (1.2AMP) and 13.5V output. So Im over driving the voltage but possibly under driving the amps? The stock mole looks to be 12v at 1.5amps. So 6amps on the RGB driver is almost irrelevant. besides thats where it maxes(to drive a 50ft strip?). Perhaps this other mole is just a better constructed mole. It's about twice the size and found in a pile of random moles.

@@gantz4u unfortunately lights under cabinets and other place became the rage and everyone started making them. Few rules of the thumb. Don’t buy cheap. Not worth it Remember the lights really don’t last 50 thousand hours ( that’s a dam joke right there ) And access. I see so many bury lights or wires and drives. They think 50 thousand hours if I use 3 hours a day these lights will last 40 years. Lmao Things like in bathrooms. Built into tile etc. make sure you have access. If you do a niche. Make sure the back side is a closet or something where you can put a panel in to service it. Running a different driver or other messes with lights. Or life. That’s why don’t buy cheap. I just did a bathroom and I go a bit overboard. Access behind niche in a closet. Easy swap of lights or driver. I also run wires to different areas of tiled areas. Then run to a board I made. I can check to see if water is under the pan or walls with a tester. Over the years I have simply hated lights. There not as good. To many mfg’s And everyone is trying to come up with a better product and fail fail fail I think my favorite thing to do is a tv in the walk in shower. He loves sports. Tv in shower and tv in wall in front of toilet.

@@mikek3951 "everyone started making them." ..China. I question whether its in China's best interests to hand superior products to big American(Burger) names(cant brand name because comment will get deleted.) In fact, the major stereo head units are exorbitantly expensive right now and theyre saying because of the pandemic theyre having trouble sourcing 7 inch displays(from China). Except Chinese brands are having no problem sourcing the displays at about 1/10th of the price for a head unit. About access I was thinking about doing an access panel in the wall to a secret outlet, where the DC power converter and LED light driver could hang out. My light strip for my kitchen bar was partly to test quality for other designs. At least for me the cheap mass produced strip seems to be going strong, although the glue backing is lacking.
