Hello how are you? I did an la swap and I have two electric fan ,I was wandering if the ECM put out ground or power on the coil side of the relay to turn the fan on?

I see people here in the comments saying they have AC issues. If you have a 99-02, they are wired differently and the functions in the PCM are slightly different. I am chasing this issue with my 2001 Silverado and the PCM of NC harness/relays. The answer to our problems is a different pressure switch and a few wires that get pinned to the PCM from BP Automotive. It's a $75 kit, i just ordered one. I plan to do a video outlining my issues, and what fixed it. Hope that information helps someone.

I did mine and now my ac compressor will not turn on everything is brand new if I remember correctly on my 01 gmc I had to remove a wire for ac will this fix that issue I know the pin lay was diffrent

Hey bro got a 2000 tahoe I've been doing alot too this is one doing in next couple days after i pull the fan harness in the morning off the 06 i got off friend after wife got hit, question is, if i just swap the 00' ecm with a 06' ecm will everything work properly still with rest of car an motor with the 2000 harness with pinning the two wires in sure the fans would work, but making sure i wouldnt have to update the climate controls and stuff to the 06 stuff cause I know they changed the plugs that connect to the climate control and the light switches anf stuff (my light control went out grabbed one from a 04 how found that out original) 2nd question would be if it all would work still if i updated the plugs and added any other wiring the 00 harness doesnt have for it would the updated 04-06 climate control units work with the 99-03 dash hardware properly (figuring the duel climate wouldnt without the duel baffles and fans for the vents) but would it still swap threw floor to defrost and hot to cold tho? Cause I also know from 99 to 06 the 5.3l tune got updated also and the HP went up twice dont wana swap it and the differnt tune possibly mess up the 00' 5.3 motor with a 06' 5.3 tune or would it actully run better like the 06 then and make that extra 20-30 hp they gained in that time? I do have the 06 motor also cause the 06 i got off friend wife got hit totaled it but only had 121k on it so got it as a donor to swap out the 00 288k in mine just going to be a few weeks before i got time to swap the 06 motor in cause if it would ill just wait on the e fan tell i do motor swap and work on preparing bumbers and stuff im getting color matched instead tomorrow lol. Sorry for thw novel😅

I'd love for the duel climate and stuff to work also but swapping all the components behind dashes isn't worth having it lol unless its all stuff you can reach without taking most the dash out from the bottom.

Ls1 car fans and a custom bracket

i just did the swap and did everything you did. I got my ECU tuned before installing so the fans would already be ready to work like factory. After finishing, my check engine light is on and the truck is running like it did before i got it tuned. Any suggestions or help.

Did this swap to my 01, only the passenger fan comes on high when the ac is on not both low like u got. Should they both be on high when the ac is on? Driver side comes on low with engine up to temp

If tuned correctly they should start working once the wiring is fixed

I have a question. I haven’t done the conversion yet I’m waiting for the parts but I want to get the tune done before I start the conversion. can I have the tuner tune it before the conversion or do you recommend them tuning it when it’s already installed? The reason I’m asking is because I need to drive the truck this week and I need it tuned so when I’m ready to do the conversion I don’t have to worry about the tune since it’ll already be there will there be a problem if I do the tune before? In other words will it be safe to do the tune with the clutch fan still in there??

any idea why relay on the 87 pin would melt the little block where it inserts into. Could it have been the vibration and engine heat? Because I don’t have the relays mounted anywhere I left them loose.

Hi, Question. I have a 2004 Chevy suburban 1500 LT RWD and I want to upgrade/install E-Fan(s) mostly because I experienced a common issue with clutch fan not cooling the AC system in a consistent manner. Thought I had an AC issue, but recently learned it is what you get with a clutch fan. I'm also interested in improved overall efficiency of my SUV. Can you (or anyone) tell me what e-fan(s) I can/should use? I don't need total perfection, but I do need them to work reliably, even if that means using unorthodox install methods. I know how to remove and install, I just need to be sure I'm buying the correct things. I also have access to/live near many auto dismantlers/pick-a-part businesses to look for parts I need. *SoCal high desert dweller: summer time temp is 105 F daily for months- I think E-Fans will help me. Recommendations? Thanks👍🏽

Measure your radiator. If the amaller one 98-02 f body fans. If the larger one the 05 up fans. IMO skip the small ones and go to the larger later radiator and truck fans. I need to do that as well

So I did this conversion and did the relay to the ac switch and that works. Why would my fans be running as soon as the engine is running tho and not up to temp? Also doing the relay will cause them to run during winter correct?

None. It could be put on switches or twmp sensors placed in the radiator or head

I did the efan on a 04 sierra with oem harness took to a shop to get installed. The only problem the high fan stays on all the time till truck is turned off . Is that something normal ? And only one fan stays on .

Depending on the year, it may need to be tied into the ac compressor wire. Or tune or wiring. Hard to say without looking

Yes. If you ever replace it go to the 150 imo. Just need a slightly longer belt

@@2Mont106 I'm not sure then. I know the ECM triggers the two fans based off of different criteria through those PINs. You could probably also search for PCM for less's instructions as they have a detailed write up sheet. Thank you

@@nufnuffz28 Idk why this is so but I took the "Wiring Harness/E-Fan" off of a 2006 chevy tahoe to place on a 2003 Z71 chevy tahoe. However, not wanting to over think 🤔 this process I'm now wondering if in any way the ECM wiring might differ depending on the year? 🤷🏽‍♂️

Compare fan settings (and AC settings) to the original tune from that year. Your compressor is running non stop...

I did the same and when I turn my a/c on, the fans won’t come on until it reaches the temperature, somehow it’s not sending the signal from a/c to turn the fans on, any ideas??

Pro tip, when recording you have to pretend like our eyes are your camera.. when you zoom way into shit I about threw up haha take that clip you were showing and put it about 1 inches crom your eyeball and you'll see what I'm talking about

You can get fans for both (LS1 for the smaller one and 05 up truck fans for the larger one)
