He's probably going to set tile on the block wall and wants a flat surface. I've done them this way. It wasn't a block wall, it became a leave in place concrete form.

Obviously clickbait. No one with any significant construction experience, especially in masonry, would say “Install Block”. The Industry correct term, for both Cement Block / CMU’s and Brick are “laid”. However, half the ppl here probably have no idea what the reference to the Tile Guy insinuates.

Not a good tile guy. The tile guys I see use wedges to level the tiles and ultimately leave huge air pockets and essentially a floating floor where only the grout holds it together.

He should be careful of electricity, water and electric doesn't match.

Well a brick or block mason doesn't know, because none of us have ever seen anyone use an orbital sander on a block. I've been doing it for over 40 years and I can almost guarantee you I'm speaking for all of my fellow masons..
