My question is why is the screw sizzling? Thanks for all the hard work on here! I've learned a ton!!

It may be that the ground current is insufficient. If you have too much resistance on any part of the circuit you will get heat. To help the amp flow- use a heavier gauge wire, or a larger bolt to ground or ground terminal (at battery) to chassis.

On your ground wire, don't you think it would have been a lot easier to use the blue wire connectors where they have one wire in a straight line and the light ground on the side of the same clip? You can use the same clips for power too.I've done this install almost a dozen times and worked like a champ. These are the clips you use to press the metal clip inside the plastic, you don't get lose wire or bad grounds. You could have saved an hour or more.and only for a couple dollars.

Love your videos it helps me so much with my 99 Dakota. Can you make a video explaining more about your side markers and how they are wired.
@briansmobile1
10 жыл бұрын
Yes! They're LED- even the front factory placed turn signal bulbs are. This allows you to have more lights without over loading the circuit AND so you can turn the noisy engine off and still have traffic communication/signaling. (I still have to use a custom LED flasher or my truck BCM thinks a bulb is out and signals too fast) -So you wire them the same way as the harness built in this video. You extend the front turn signal + wire down the frame to the back tire in distance (inside frame tube along or inside factory harness jacket for protection and stabilize from chafing etc.) That causes them to work with turn signals/hazards, but not brake lights. The ground is built into the housing of the LED marker lights and is acquired locally.

It's not paint at all. When newer cars are made they are dip in a chemical bath that alters the chemistry of the steel to prevent corrosion. This is a similar type of treatment. Check out this video at 19:09 Dodge Challenger Where a Dodge Challenger body is dipped in a Zinc Phosphate solution.

Nice job, and I believe most people can do this with a touch of warning not to fold their liner and stay away from Alex. The wiring (unit used, and what wire where so it does this and that kinda thing) methods of stripping and heat shrink should make it out okay. Another concern was the voltage, did you relay or wire hot straight from the battery or fuse box. I guess I'm trying to dumb things down, or maybe everybody gets it and I'm just too critical. My feet hurt.

Professional job! They will see you coming now.
Good morning my friend ! You did a good job and can u send me a link to buy those cab lights please !
What do u do far a switch
Great video Brian loved it
I thoroughly enjoyed this project on my last f150 can't wait to get them over to my current f150! I put 4 halo. floods on my Baha bar..spst switch to 2 - 25A fused relays to 2 - 65W floods and 2 - 55W floods..my bar being grounded with 4 self tapping screws...one screw was sizzling while two 65W and only one 55W floodlight were lit!

That anti rust goop looks like LPS. We use it in a spray and a brush on at work to prevent machined surfaces from rusting
I don't know what the stuff is called but it's blueing the steel. Pretty much the same a gun blueing
what year is your truck?
Great video man, taught me a lot (once again).

Can you do another one on how you did the wiring please.
Great job! The truck lights look amazing. What type of lights did you use for the rear window interior? I'm driving a Dodge Dakota and I am looking for some lights to work in conjunction with my rear signal lights (I find the regular rear signal lights are not visible enough), and also to work as emergency strobes like you have.

+Zoltan They're gen 3, and 3 LED exterior mount types. The company name was 3LED. I can't find them anywhere anymore. This is the closest I could find → www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B9JI1XY/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00B9JI1XY&linkCode=as2&tag=httpwwwyou00f-20&linkId=WR273N6EZWWHJKKK

Thank you. I looked up the link you posted. They look good. Any suggestions for the interior lights (rear window)?
Always pays off to watch till end it was funny
figure out what that stuff is yet that prevents the rust?? I would use it all the time..
You could have saved an hour or more.and only for a couple dollars.
this is a 01 dodge ram 1500 correct?
What are you using for a controller to get your lights to flash and stuff? I would like to do that to my truck

+Tyler “Dirtboy97” Borgerding It's just a Whelen flasher. You can go to their website and find it.
That ending was hilarious
Love your videos it helps me so much with my 99 Dakota. Can you make a video explaining more about your side markers and how they are wired.

When I get some money I will try this. I will try and film it and post it. Keep up the good work. Do you have a parts list for your lights?
It looks like a gelled. Osfo type product . sort of a rust converter .
Why don't ya get a control panel from whelean?
That ending though with the animals ... 🤣🤣🤣
Haha awesome light show !
For these cab lights, are they just brand specific to dodge then? Where did you get them, if I may ask? Great video man!

They can be installed on most anything, but they make factory type matches for Dodge, Ford, and Chevy vehicles. Check them out! Google Atomic LED cab lights.
Look at you with the extra fancy intro graphic!

I'm stepping my game up for the Sunday videos. ; )
Didn't have any lights before... BUT BOY it has lights now! WOO I'm on FIIRE! Haha that got me. Awesome truck man, and thanks for the guide! p.s. While typing i made it to the extra bit at the end, hahahahaha.
Little tip. Cut the bottom off a dixie cup and punch the drill bit through the bottom. The little cup will catch the shavings and you won't have the mess to clean up.

Punch your drill bit through the bottom of the cut off cup, then drill your hole with the bottom of the cup on your drill. Good tip!
Where did you find those adapters for the wires from the lights

The light sockets came from Mazda 3's at the wrecking yard. Front marker light sockets.
well done...more involved than I had imagined though. Disco Dodge..hahahahah

Haha did the same exact thing on my friends 96 even had the same ideas as you only difference is his doesn't have back doors so the head liner was in the way the whole time
so is the the whellen part needed for strobing affect

Yep. It's a whelen flasher.
Hey brian, I got a sweet idea for keeping metal shavings collected.. Get a paper plate or a chili cup put the drill bit through the centre when you drill all the junk lands on the plate and you dump it

yeah, stacy david on GEARS did something similiar with a disposable cup, like a red solo cup. but u just cut so much off the top and use whatever size bit ur gonna use to make a whole in the bottom of the cup to catch the metal

The animals at the end, 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That rust preventing stuff .... Is it guaranteed rusted proof?? Is like repainting the metal?

It's not paint at all. When newer cars are made they are dip in a chemical bath that alters the chemistry of the steel to prevent corrosion. This is a similar type of treatment. Check out this video at 19:09 Dodge Challenger Where a Dodge Challenger body is dipped in a Zinc Phosphate solution.
brain I 'll out light you thanks to you..... p.s. love the very very very ending when we meet all your friends lmfao

Plasti-Kote used to make it, it converted rust into a non-reactive black surface. I think it was called rust killer.
probably the goop to stop it from leaking or electric grease

First thing you've got to do is take a grammar class pronto!!
