I have just installed (yesterday) the same vice. If I had seen your video, my install would have had less swearing involved. My big mistake, as I had no instructions, was to use the front plate instead of the main body, to set out the holes. Had to do a bit of filing to get proper clearance on the guides and main screw. Mine had to go on the front of my bench. Thank you for a nice clear description of how you did it.

Mark, go sit in the corner for that Dad Joke :P Kidding aside, it really is a simple and elegant solution. I wonder just how many people are finally getting around to those minor improvements and odd projects that there just wasn't time for normally. Hasn't made much difference here being so damn far from town, but for those who normally go out regularly, here's hoping you're finding things to do to avoid going stir crazy and keep safe

Hey Vic You would never guess what Santa dropped off last night :). Only difference is now H&F are selling it for $90 instead of the $80 in your video. Thanks for the install video, very helpful for today's job. Cheers David

A few smiles during this video Victor. I got the cheaper option vice. without quick release and it has the same problem with the mounting holes !!! The bench I made was for sale and 80mm thick, so I used Coach screws, so fortunately no extra hole visible :). I also have the anti rack 'Block'. It works well. I have used 6mm legs. Thanks Victor, keep well. Cheesy saying. Think Positive, test Negative. At least we have our workshops to keep us occupied and out of site of the missus, whose job it is to find us extra things to do LOL

Thanks Vic what a coincidence, I spent a big part of saturday remounting my vice over to my mobile bench only to find it had become broken in the mechanism. So i started to research a new vice and landed on the Hare & Forbes site looking at this very vice for 58 bux. Well done mate, nice tip for the spacer fingerblock.
