I can't answer that question. It all depends on what YOU like. Some DJs love the Mag4 crossfader. Some don't. The only reason I replaced mine was because my Mag4 was defective. All I know is that I love this innofader. Smooth as butter!

Thanks so much 2! Great tutorial.. I was thinking of doing just this.. Not real happy with the mag4 - I dont know if its just mine but it feels like when I try to crab or move it quickly, even when set fully loose, it feels like it flexes and then gets a bit 'caught up' on the way... type sht. Is that what yours felt like?

Yes!!! That's exactly how mine felt and I hated it!! I feel like mine was defective because I messed around with a Rane Four the other day and it has a Mag4 but it felt fine. Anyway I'm sooooo glad I replaced my Mag4 on my Rane One with an Innofader.

I ordered one yesterday bro!! Cant wait! I also saw some cool products out there that increase the size of the platters to, I think 8"? Have you changed your slipmats? I heard there are some much better ones for rane one than the stock ones too.. Might do that next if I get the right pair. :) I'm from old school vinyl battle days so wanting my rane one to be super scratchy haha and no jumps! fk yeah! @@DJ2Legit007

Im from old school vinyl battle scratching days so want my rane one to be as slippery and scratchy as possible haha Do you know much about those 8 inch platter upgrades and have you upgraded your slipmats? I hear there are a lot better ones out there than the standard Rane ones that come with the ONE. @@DJ2Legit007

What was the issue with the original fader? Also, is there a difference in curve between the innofader and the mag4?

Constant sticking even after cleaning and lubricating with deoxit. Not sure of the difference since I never had a chance to use a proper Mag4.
