    Fantastic video as always. I followed your day night for outside. Now I want to do this Diy for my corridor. Is or advisable to put the motion detector with pir ontop of the door frame. With a led light in the centre? (Corridor is 4 m long thus light is in the centre at 2 m). Should I also use a 360 or 180 degree wall motion sensor with day night ??? I appreciate your exceptional videos as always. From Gauteng

    thanks. If you put the PIR on top of door frame the light will remain off for a short time when someone walks through the door under the PIR until the person is in view of the PIR. If the PIR is 180 degrees and mounted on the wall, it should pick up from both sides of the corridor as soon as someone walks through the door on each side.

    in case that i need the switch on option, meaning that i switch on the light manually for a period of time, what do i have to do?

  • @ecologicaltime

    @ecologicaltime

    4 жыл бұрын

    there is an override on some sensors. This one you can adjust the time to longer but does not give full manual control. Others have a manual override. Get one with manual override.

    can i use one of these sensors to turn on and off my patio heaters ? thanks

  • @ecologicaltime

    @ecologicaltime

    3 жыл бұрын

    yes as long as your heater wattage is lower than the maximum wattage that the sensor can take. Small heater is fine but high power heater, you will need a more powerful relay inside the sensor

    Do you know if you can do this on a 3pole switch ?

  • @ecologicaltime

    @ecologicaltime

    4 жыл бұрын

    it can work if you set the switch to the one pole that you are connecting the detector. When you move the switch tot he other pole, the detector will be offline.

  • @ecologicaltime

    @ecologicaltime

    4 жыл бұрын

    if its a high quality and reliable detector, you could bypass the one pole as it will be always on and the detector can be used as the switch going on only when person is in vicinity.
