How to Install an Estes Screw-on Retainer
Ғылым және технология
In this video we will be showing you how to install an Estes Screw-on Retainer to your low and mid powered rockets.
Estes does not give the best instructions as to how these work or the best methods to install them, so we created this video to walk you through the process step by step. Learning how these work and how to install them will give you a big leg up when you move on to high powered rockets, as the Estes Screw-on Retainer mimics the design of most high powered rockets.

Screw the motor retainer cap onto the threaded section that goes over the tube. Set the motor inside the motor retainer then use that to determine where the thrust ring should go. If you had waited any longer in this video you would not have been able to move the trust ring and you would have had to scrap the motor tube and start over.
I used my first screw on retainer the other day for 18mm. What I did was glue the retainer on first. Then I used a spent motor and put it in to where it stuck out about 1/2in past the retainer and taped it in place. I then put in glue and the engine block and pulled the old motor out before the glue dried. simple and a perfect fit.
Thanks for the video Tim
Thanks Tim
Thank you!
Thanks. Very helpful. Hoping to fly my five mid powers soon. Wish me luck. I have no idea what I'm doing.

I wish you luck.
The best part of the screw on engine retainer is that it does away with engine hooks. I hate engine hooks.
You parachute in any desired size can be sent to Turkey? If you can send parachute up to 360cm diameter can be cost. Thank you.
