Thanks for taking the time and effort to produce this video , you do good work, i think if your a tradey and have the money its a no brainer , like you said remote area fuel contamination and prices are the reason , also piece of mind knowing you have a huge driving range compared to stock , and lets not forget is an issue when your in FWD, Cheers Dave..

Thanks mate. I must admit it's been great having it on, driving for ages without filling up, rarely having to worry about fuel for the majority of drives.

Just wanted to say thanks for the high-quality in depth video. Your video was helpful for me deciding to get one of these myself. Q: did the dash-gauge turn out to be accurate for the last 80Lt of the tank usage? Mine says Empty when there's still 15Lts left, and the Distance To Go alarm pings on even earlier when there's still 200KM to go. I conducted a test drive from full until the car spluttered and the tank took 138Lt - so good useable range with that (974km)!

No worries mate. I haven't really checked as I use the Ultra gauge to see my fuel levels. I think it is roughly accurate when it says half a tank the Ultra gauge has around 70 litres left but I usually fill up as I get to 40-30 litres left and haven't really pushed it yet.

This is great content. Very helpful in planning my build. I'm looking at going with a long range tank eventually. The options for Triton appear more limited than those for Mazda so it looks like Brown Davis is the go. It gives around an extra 50 litres. I don't have the facility to do a DIY install so I have to add the installation cost too. All these mods add up very quickly. BTW, what's your experience with Concept in getting replies from them once you've paid your money? I'm struggling to get responses to issues I've got with my canopy.

They definitely add up, gets crazy expensive so hopefully nothing breaks. Not too sure, I haven't really had to email them for a while, not urgently so maybe waited a day or two for a response normally. What happened to the canopy?

@@TheBrowneTown I'm guessing we're at ~88K with around 20K to go. Yikes. 27K of that was the canopy as we got a custom job done that entailed a 430mm shelf with sides at the rear to put pushbikes on. I'm trying to get them to advise on struts for the inside of the back wall so that I can use them as a hard point to stabilise the bikes. My understanding is that I can't just use unistrut as Concept said they use their own unique strut extrusions. Ugh, wish I'd known that. But my major concern is that 2 of my underfloor boxes get water in them if I drive in the rain. The first I knew was after I had the canopy a few months and went to get my air compressor out of the rear underfloor box. It had around an inch of water in the bottom and everything in there was soaked. The front drivers side was the same. The left drivers side was damp inside but no actual pool at the bottom. I've since used roof sealant along all the inside seams and that will hopefully stop water ingress but I'd like to know what happened in the first place. I would also like a couple of replacement locks as the originals have rusted horribly after being wet. But no luck so far. I might give them another try today.

Yep I am just under 100 but not with too much left at all. I have pieces of Ezystrut (same as unistrut) in my car, just using square brackets etc from RS components, channel nuts and bolts to join it all together or spacers to fill gaps in between different sized pieces etc. That's a shame about the boxes, are they the toolboxes behind the wheel guard at the back? I haven't had mine underwater but have gone through mud and puddles etc, had the outside covered with spray and dirt but no dust inside. I can only assume if the pinch weld is good and the lock is set properly (adequate compression onto that pinch weld) that it would have to have come through a mounting bolt hole? Can't say I've had issues with mine so far but also like I said, they haven't been submerged or anything.

@@TheBrowneTown I've got 4 boxes - 2 small ones in front of and 2 larger ones behind the rear wheels. I got in contact with Rowan at Concept today about them. He said this was an extremely unusual occurrence but didn't offer any solutions. I'll wait to see how they perform next time I run thru rain. I haven't been thru any river crossings or anything. It must have been water splashing up from the road. I guess time will tell as to whether my repairs are ok. I also mentioned the struts to him and he's looking in to what they can provide to help me out there. I saw what you did with the tyre mount bracket in your canopy. I need something like that but more in a "H" shape. So I'll wait to see what Rowan comes up with. If that fails I'll pursue the ezystrut options.

Yes, that rear wheel brace is Concept Canopies own extrusion, it came with the canopy. I haven't added much besides some tie down rails and different pieces to mount other things into. Hopefully the water situation gets sorted.

The new one doesn't require a stone guard?

No definitely not. The factory stone guard won't fit but it's also not required, the bottom of this tank and the Brown Davis poly tank are made thick and also they're made to form over obstacles in the worst case scenario. I can't imagine a scenario where this gets punctured, I haven't read about anyone puncturing them either in forums and normally you'd hear about that stuff.

Don't need it but remember... It's better to have and not need than to need and not have.
