I understand all the reasons why people would like to use ms office on linux, they're used to it, it's industry standard and stuff, but i genuinely don't see a difference between ms office and libreoffice. Like really, besides the interface and compatibility, what really changes?

There is a version of CS6 that can be ran in wine without any issue for those who dont want to use a VM. Alternatively, there is Photopea which is exactly photoshop without the AI generation content and probably a few other things missing, but its also a good alternative of Photoshop

Funny stuff, lmao Hello Mr. Russel Brown :-). Btw there is also a binary of all the photoshop files (2020) on github u can compile under Linux and then run under Wine. Or in windows if u like. That version doesn't have the nasty AI stuff :-) and still had the 3D stuff in it which Adobe removed in it's later versions. Just a thought Matt since u like 3D so much :-))).

Excellent video Matt! I think that what you created here is a portable version of Photoshop. That means that you can take it on a USB and work with it on any Windows computer or on Linux running it through Lutris. No installation will be needed. There are many other third party software that do not have a Linux version. Companies give everyone a functioning software for two weeks at least so people would be able to get an impression about the software capability. Two weeks from each software is enough time to show how to make the software work on Linux. Doing videos for that will show people that they can leave Windows and still use their purchased Windows third party software. That is what Linux is missing. You can see in the comments that people are already exited. Here are some suggestions for future videos- Avid Sibelius Avid Pro-Tools Magix Vegas Affinity Designer Also, Davinci resolve in it's Windows version. Let me know if you want more suggestions.

@@Mattscreative I totally agree with with your mindset. I use cakewalk which you already showed and I thank you for that. Still, The idea of the suggestion is to show Windows users that they do not need Windows for using their on software and can use it on Linux. Both Pro-Tools and Sibelius are top of the line software that many use including pro studios. Magix Vegas is a intermediate video editing software that gives excellent results. Many people who need a none resource hungry software use Vegas. In your Cakewalk video, in Lutris, you have a Davinci Resolve Studio lunching icon. That made me wonder, if it's not a Windows version, why using Lutris to lunch a Linux version software? Thanks for the Affinity videos. Something else. by chance, do you have a playlist of "How to install Windows software on Linux" or so, that everyone will find all of those videos in one place?? There are other software suggestions if you like.

Great video. My Win10 OS PC already has all the tools I need such as Office, and Adobe apps. However, it is incapable of supporting the Win11 OS. And come October 14, 2025 when Win10 reaches end of support I prefer to continue using my Win10 PC. Therefore, is it technically possible to convert my entire Wind10 OS I presently use into an ISO file and run it as a sandboxed Win10 OS within a Linux Mint OS using Linux Mint virtual machine software? I am thinking to rely on only the Linux Mint OS for Internet access and to make sure the Linux Mint VM app is configured so it protects my Wind10 ISO file from any future changes . If you think the idea is viable I hope you decide to make a video about it. Thanks.

@Mattscreative Shouldn't be too much different. Adobe has been very lazy in updating their software... all the CC versions I've tested run worse, are less stable, have more bugs, and slower than CS6. I regularly create 40-80+ gb files, only the most stable software will do.

Great Video, But When It Comes To Stability, I Believe It's Still Challenging To Run Adobe Apps On Linux Without Limitations. While You Can Technically Run These Apps, Their Functionality Might Be Limited Due To The Different Environment Linux Provides. Additionally, The Video Didn't Showcase Any Specific Tools To Demonstrate How Easily They Can Run On Linux.. Here Are Some Examples You Could Explore: Advanced Texture & Pattern Effects (E.g. Displace, Wave) Advanced Distortion Effects (E.g. Puppet Warp, Liquify) Advanced Render Effects (E.g. Clouds, Fire) Adding Special Effects (E.g. Drop Shadows, Glows) Applying Advanced Filters (E.g. Unsharp Mask, Lens Blur) Applying Advanced Selection Tools (E.g. Select & Mask, Refine Edge) Applying Camera Raw Filter & Content-Aware Tools Etc If You Try These Out And They Work Well For You, That Would Be A Great Benefit For Linux Users!
