I`m just binge watching the budget build videos. One note regarding the shift know, make sure you buy the correct type for your car. Diesel Golfs have a shorter and thicker shifter (8mm) and you can find it easy to mix them up.

Hello, I have a question, I have a 6 speed manual where you have to pull a pin up to put the car is reverse, can you install a aftermarket knob on one of those or does it not work?

He didn't have to take the size of the boot and the size of the compartment into consideration. He only had to make sure the R, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 wasn't upside down.

So how do you keep the shift knob from rotating after installation? Weird, I got the knob to clip on tight enough where you can't take it out but when you turn the knob it doesn't seem to want to stay in straight. You can literally spin the shift knob. Help?

iRatedxD No. I changed the shift knob from OEM to an aftermarket Black Forest Industries shift knob.

How to take the black plastic off, thats around the shifter? Not the whole console, just the inside black plastic where the ashtray is seated in, I want to repaint it cuz its scratched, but dont know how to take it off

Whad up buddy put a small flat head screwdriver in between the gap on the tray and try and prise it up carefully see if that works

@@alkyneytdavid7726 this is the most unusual method ive ever seen. most shift knobs have a locking screw/bolt or simply screw down.. none of these compression clips, and an awful lot of consoles need to be removed to unscrew the boot frame from below.
