I just spent an hour watching videos on mailboxes and NOT ONE included this step. THANK YOU!!! Thumbs up and subscribed!! Well done.

I replaced a rural mailbox 📬 after the old 1 was hit.I didn't reuse the old bent metal post that's in cocrete 4 the past 50 yrs.I mounted it on an old 4x4 wood post and installed it just as your video.Works great.😊
Thanks for the straight to the point video. It was exactly what I needed. Not everyone knows how to do this stuff. I appreciate it.
Thanks! I needed this quick video! Time to replace the old mailbox!
Thanks for how you talked in the video. You were clear and didn't make me feel like an idiot about how simple it is to do. Thanks much!
crazy lady across the street ripped my mailbox off the post and threw it at my house, now I'm here...

Modification: Make this project Plow Proof by attaching the mailbox mounting board to the top of a FLAT Bollard 7" sleeve by Innoplast or any other Bollard company (about $43.00) and place the sleeve over your 4" decking post. You must add a small piece of 1" board to each side of the 4x4 post which will make the diagonal 6.36" as the 4x4 is actually 3.5". Order a 7" Bollard cover with a FLAT top. Mount mailbox mounting board to the flat Bollard cover with 4 or 5 stainless steel wood screws as opposed to the traditional method of securing it directly to a wooden post. There are a bunch of Bollard cover colors to choose from. That way, if a snowplow hits your mailbox it will swivel in a circle instead of snapping off. If your mailbox is hit, simply swivel the mailbox back into position. As a precaution, it might be advisable to spray the Bollard sleeve with a silicone spray so it will not stick to any ice.
Thanks, a great and easy to understand video even for someone who's all thumbs.
DANG! I have been putting this off because I thought it would be a big deal! Thank you! Can I assume if I want the new box to be bigger than the existing one, I just use two 1x6s or what would be best?

I need to replace 3 mailboxes since wood holding to post is rotted. I understand how to do the one but what's easiest way to do 3. Not much room inbetween to screw down. Help pls
Good 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Sweet video, really helped me finally fix my one of my projects in a snap. Just starting out with Woody Hyezmar’s book, the projects look really fun, google him if you want to see what I mean.
How is the mailman going to see that mailbox? It's camouflaged!
I will try to do it with Woodprix plans.
Less than 1% of mailboxes are meant to be installed this way. Make a video showing how to do the other 99% (which require no cutting!)
