    Do you have a video showing an outside installation? on my windows, I don't have enough depth to do the "preferred" inside install and was worried about light leaking from the sides on an outside install. In other words, how close will the bracket on an outside install allow the shade material approach the outside trim boards? TY

    Sandy, We do not have a video for outside mount on these brackets. But, to mount outside, you'll install the screws through the backside of the bracket instead of putting the screws through the top. There could be light leaking on the sides of an outside mount. How far does the width of the blind overlap your window on each side?

    My bracket is same as your page instruction. I have put the bracket inside mount exactly as in the instruction, but I could not install shade into it. There was no "snapping". I repeat there was no "snapping". And my shade was falling right away. I agreed with Pat Kowalczyk that if you could close up of snapping into place. And if you could explain how to do that slowly. That is one of important step. That is not really helpful, but thank you so much anyway.

    I purchased a home with the Levlor that pulls down and with a press button they are supposed to retract the cell shades back up. I have 3 of these about 70inches wide and the window is 34" tall. They are insalled and width is very good, BUT the cellular shade length is way longer than the windows. When I pull it down, instead of the 34" of window it covers over 72 inches, and DOES NOT go back up when I press the button. I hear it click and a few inches it rolls up, but not the rest. Also since it is so long, it stacks very thick, covering more of the window than it likely should. What can I do to fix these? Are there any instructions on how to cut these to size and restring them? (I tried this video's recommendation with no difference)

    Phil - Thanks for your question. As far as I know, there are no instructions to shorten this type of cellular shade. Since they are springloaded, it would be tricky to take them apart and get them back together and still be working properly. I've searched for any helps for this type of shade, but not come up with anything. You can contact Levolor directly, but they may refer you back to us. Their contact information can be found here: www.levolor.com/customer-support/customer-service. Please let me know if I can help with any other questions.

    These brackets can be tricky, but after reading the enclosed instructions and spending some time sitting with and looking at - and trial fitting - the bracket and the header (before the install) you should be able to "see" how it would work. I really worry these days about folks not being able to comprehend the workings of simple "snap together" parts. Thank you fixmyblinds, I will try that. We adjusted the far right bracket for that reason when the center and left would click in but the right wouldn't. All we accomplished was now the center and right clicks in and the left side won't. For a DIY blind, it shouldn't be this technical. Or directions should say it is IMPERATIVE that installer uses a straight edge or laser line. We measured, but a hair off is critical with these blinds. Can't return as they were custom cut.

  • @fixmyblinds

    @fixmyblinds

    Hi TK, We don't cut down blinds here and don't have any recommendations for that. You can certainly install two shades next to each other. There will be a light gap where the fabric meets. To avoid the light gap, you can custom order a shade that covers the full width of the window opening. Or, consider ordering a custom shade with a two on one headrail. (That is two separate shades on the same mounting rail at the top.) There's much less of a light gap where the fabric pieces meet with two on ones. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

Gently pull down on the bottom rail to reactivate the cordless spring motor. This helps in many cases. Anytime the blind is left in the closed position for an extended period of time, the cordless spring motor may need to be reset in order to operate properly.

The window frame was pushing the battery pack down and causing it to not click on the right side. Taking the battery pack out will not help . It's the battery mount that is hitting the window frame. The shades will not 'snap into place." That is a joke. The only reason anyone has for searching for a video on how to install their cordless shade is because they will not snap into place no matter what they do. It is impossible. After destroying more than one shade, ruining the paint job in a room, and suffering untold hours of frustration, I figured out how to install the shades. IGNORE the directions and ignore this video. Install the brackets completely backwards- with the metal piece closest to the room and the front edge of the bracket closest to the window frame. Slide the shade right into place, pinning it between the window frame and the bracket. Voila! I have had my shades up for months like this and it took two seconds to do. Don't listen to anyone who tells you that the shade will snap into place. It won't. Give up on it before you destroy something and lose your mind.

    Working with these brackets can be difficult. I'm sorry to hear that you've struggled with them so much and been so frustrated. They fit very tightly, and it is sometimes hard to get them to snap onto the headrail. However, our instructions follow the manufacturer's seen here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/rJOlr5Srp6ecddI.html. It's important to install the shade per the manufacturer's instructions so that it's safe and will operate properly. If you look at this web page, there are several close up shots that show how the bracket is attached to the headrail: www.fixmyblinds.com/cellular-shade-bracket-01.html

    Not what i needed. What part of the shade do you mount on the bracket. You miss a very important step.

    Hi Elizabeth - You mount the top rail of the shade into the brackets. Please look at the additional pictures on this product to see how they fit on: fixmyblinds.com/products/cellular-shade-bracket-01.

    Too bad you dont show how to shorten. And, the brackets were already attached to the blind and very difficult to remove. 🤦‍♀️

    To get the brackets off of the top rail, squeeze them towards the rail so you can unhook them from the top first. They are a little tricky to work with!

    Who else thought this video was painstakingly long? Like, is it necessary to watch the man fiddle with EACH end cap and drill holes for all three of the brackets? Zzzzzzz......

    Next to NO attention paid to snapping blind into place. Useless.

    Blinds.com instructions are virtually non-existent (too cheap to hire a Chinese-English translator, I guess) & so are their videos!
