I had to have an extra tall and extra wide gate installed between my kitchen and living area when the pups were little...So nice during training. Now, with only Little Hok'ee, I leave it open all the time, unless my friend brings over her Boston "Terror" puppy for a visit. I like the safety and security of those gates, and they are not the old flimsy gates, made of plastic, of yesteryear. Great video MMM🐾🦊🐺

Oh that's really a great usage too for your Hok'ee!

This looks like a very nice gate kit, much nicer than ones in the past. That is a good idea to have the mesh screen up there also, it helps to stop the temptation of a baby wanting to put their head between the bars. Very nice and informative video.

I came here to say thank you SO MUCH for this video. I’ve been stupidly lost on getting this mounting piece installed, even before worrying about adding the gate part. This is so easy! And you’re right, the instructions that came with the kit are not very helpful.

That’s great you do not need to drill into your woodwork to get the gate installed. I kept thinking, please don’t forget you are at the top of stairs and take a fall! Thanks for the video!

On the round banister adapters, did you make sure the arrows were pointed UP? I initially installed with arrows down and had the same issue you did, but when I actually read the directions, said to point up and all is good where the wood rests against everything nice and level.

Where did you get the mesh screen?

It's a stairway net from Amazon. Held up pretty well - I ended up using zip ties instead of just strings. If the kid starts pulling them down, just have to put them back into place. Otherwise they've been really good for us: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NPG3GHR

thats only half of the installation. needed to see it installed into an offset wall adjacent to the banister

My wall wasn't offset and it was directly across from the banister. The only part slightly offset was the trim at the bottom but the edge protectors on the gate are adjustable horizontally to accommodate that.
